Hi. Hope you're doing good.

So last night I was driving back from Monal Islamabad and on the way back I think the rotors and brakes got heated up and started making screeching noises every time i pressed the brakes. Noise was more of a chk chk chk something like that. I've never experienced this kind of noise before and I was wondering If this could be due to the recent brake job.

More than a month ago I did a diy front brake job. Items that were changed were:
1- Rotors (OEM got them from the honda dealership)
2- Akebono Brake Pads
3- Caliper slide pin boots since old ones were worn out. They were not oem since dealership was out of stock.

I didn't change the brake oil since it was already dark and was tired. For reference brake oil was changed around 1.5 years ago.

I've been to monal many times and never experienced this kind of this noise. There is no sound in city driving or even highways. The journey to monal is steep and the brakes get hot on the return journey. I was wondering if this could be due to the new rotors or is there something wrong?

Thats the wrong kind of grease for the slide pins, you need silicone grease.

And wow!! Amsoil brake parts cleaner? Its probably twice the cost of regular brake cleaner and 100 times more expensive than soap n water. (Most brakes are now serviced with soap n water, the brake cleaner sprays are used on a rag to clean slider pins to apply fresh grease.

Its not abt expense here where I live, but health of the worker, this product attacks your liver very harshly.

Sillicone grease was used for slide pins. The copper antiseize was used for pad backing and metal contact points pad ears etc.

Actually It was the cheapest I could find and was available. Used Brake cleaner from NASA chemicals before on all previous brake jobs since its dirt cheap (300 for a big bottle) and it worked great however it was out of stock at that time.

Glazed brakes squeal a lot, you can deglaze them with a 60 grit flat grinding disc on a rotary.

Okay so the brakes don't squeal at all and are completely noiseless after a thorough drive.

I don't think so Im just a guy who likes to diy.

At this point I'm thinking to buy oem pads since I think these akebono ones might not be as good and replacing over the next weekend. What do you think?

Definitely not worn since they were replaced a month ago.

This is my first time using aftermarket brake pads. Went for these akebono ones since they seemed reliable oe manufacturer and ofcourse the cost difference was around 8k . My only concern is that they may not be able to withstand high temperatures etc while ive had no issues with the honda ones. Plus I'll have to jack up the car anyways for a brake oil change since its been around 1.5 years.

Sir, what could be the possible reasons of frequent shaft seal leakage /failure in Piston based compressors?

It happened 2nd time within a year... Is it time to repair it 2nd time or remove root cause first before fixing or time to replace compressor now?
