Is this normal for a car to get water splashes inside engine plastic shield or it is only happening in my car? The shield has some tiny holes etc not sure if these are as designed.

Honda and toyota oem are sold as premix, meaning they are half water anyway. To compare their pricing to this multiply the cost of them (toyota/honda oem) by 2.

Meaning if you pay 1000 per liter for premix, you actually are paying 2000 per liter for concentrate. This havoline being concentrate is still cheaper as one litre of this yields 2 liter coolant. In other words you get 2 litres for rs 1622.

Can someone please guide me what is the interval for cleaning throttle body and catalytic and even if it is necessary or not? I bought Honda city last year with 140K on the Odo meter. The car was running fine on a safer side I get it spark plugs changed with the original OEM. I am using synthetic oil 5w30 grade also on every oil change I am changing air and oil filter and Alhamdulillah the car is running fine from last year. My question is there any time interval days or KMs after which one has to get the throttle and catalytic clean or it should be cleaned only Incase of any issue? Does it really necessary to TB and CAT clean or not? Because in my previous experience with another car I get my car throttle bodyclean with a mechanic and the next day I started to get tps error code and eventually I had to get the whole throttle body change.

Sir I have prado 2000 model with 1kz te engine. Its turbo charger seems a little faulty. My options are to replace it with a chinese turbo for 35000 or replace its cartridge for Rs 28000 or repair it with a chinese repair kit for Rs 16000.Used genuine turbo is for 75000. Please recommend what should i do

There is no interval for throttle or cat cleaning, They are left alone unless they actually give you problems. - Catalytic converters never die on their own, they are murdered by misfires.

The throttle body doesnt need cleanup in regular use either. If you are seeing dirt on the inlet side, you have an air filter problem.

For turbo units, I always buy genuine part. Too many bad experiences with off brand.

Thank you for the guidance. This is really helpful and appreciated specially honest and expert opinion. Mechanic nowadays even Honda , Toyota service centers asked you to clean throttle and catalytic without any need. I always thought if you car is running fine and not making any issue there is no need of so called engine running i.e TB and CAT cleaning

@Xulfiqar Sir can you please guide if we can till source the thermal cold start advance device(Automatic Cold Start Advance or auto choke in desi language) for a 2005 toyota 2c diesel engine? or if the old one can be repiared(putting some citirc acid solution) along with the device that ensures a smooth return of the accelerator to avoid jerks in Pakistan? I tried searching a lot in twin cities but it's not available. any way other out for it?

@MBILALNAWAZ read this post call up the person, if they have facility in RWP/ISB you are in a win win situation, or
you can ask your mechanic to remove pump and dispatch via TCS to the denso shop, they will repair & calibrate pump & seal the adjustments, your mechanic shall only install & connect to start engine

Gave him a call and explained the issue. He said they can only tell if the ACSA is repairable or not upon physically inspecting it and if it's not repairable it would have to be replaced from some "kabari" market as it's not available new. Atleast they don't have it in stock!
The car works like a charm, very good fuel average, no black smoke issues! but you have to sit in the car when you start it for some 30sec to 2-3mins depending on ambient temperature else it will vibrate like anything and sometimes turns off as well and secondly when you leave the accelerator the jerk it takes is not very pleasing either!

@Xulfiqar I've installed an oil pressure gauge. At 1000rpm hot idle it's at 90kPa on 15W-40 Delo Gold (15.1 cSt @ 100°C.)

Cold start oil pressure is 400kPa. Revving engine raises oil pressure, so my pump is likely fine. And since my engine tends to run cold and the oil pressure drops as low as 80kPa sometimes, I'm positive my journals need replacement, and the crankshaft may be worn too.

What do you think? Should I continue running Delo Gold or switch to a lighter 40wt. oil? Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 is 12.8cSt. I will order the bearings for near-future replacement.

@syncview i need oil pressure pod from any small engine to drive electronic oil gauge in cluster. current one is from some 1600 cc engine and gauge is not moving correctly. YOU OWE ME THAT since before COVID it is high time you get serious about it

Absolutely. The oil pressure gets to 240 kPa (34.8 psi) held at 4000rpm warmed up, which is below spec for the F6A SOHC.

Am I correct in thinking it's the crank and bearings?

that can only be determined after the engine is assembled and oil pump / crank journals clearances are measured

Of course disassembly is the only way to truly find out. I'm just taking a guess. I'm also using a Chinese digital gauge with a sender attached to a sandwich adapter over the oil filter, and I'd like to verify against a known good mechanical oil pressure gauge mounted straight into the pressure switch thread.

I also found out the stock oil pressure switch turns on at 0.4 bar, 5.8 psi. I was likely close to that with the 5W-30 full syn 10.1cSt.

Do you know of any Karachi workshops that could help me verify the low oil pressure issue?

Small update: Jameel Autos (thanks to @capsat for his recommendation) had an analog oil pressure gauge. Incidentally, my engine was the first time he'd ever used it.

48 psi at the oil pressure switch at 4000rpm hot unloaded, which is fed directly from the second crank journal. So within spec (38.4 - 52.6 psi) according to the engine manual instructions to measure at 4000rpm.

At 1000rpm hot idle, 6 psi.

Since the engine instructions don't talk about oil pressure at idle, I'm assuming everything is fine. What do you think? @Xulfiqar
