Aslam Alikum, Today I am writing about CG125SE model. I have owned this bike when was first launched I had bought CG125S which had regular graphic tank & side covers. Now I think this edition has been discontinued only SE model available as people really liked SE model compare to regular.
Ride
Ride of bike is little bit different and better. Because of new 5 gear ohv engine which was early present in Deluxe than introduced with Self starter in CB125F. Bikes frame has been improved to reduce vibrations and it has helped little bit at lower speeds bike till 60km/h is good to ride but above that you would feel good popluar cg vibrations. Vibrations can't be removed from this old tech it has no balancer shaft as in CB150F or Yamaha's Ybrs latest Ohc engine which minimizes vibrations. So don't don't compare this ride smoothness to the smoothness of those bikes with latest engine & balancing shaft installed. Ahl still wants nation to keep stick with Ohv technology would have heart winning bike if this CGSE model & CB125F was introduced with latest smooth engine. Riding position is better because of new handle this change was hardly noticed by people but this was really good change. I wish it had support for bar end weights as in cb125f & cb150f handle. This might have helped in reducing further vibration which are felt in handle.
Comparison 4 Gear Ohv Engine with 5 Gear Deluxe Engine
This engine is no doubt better in terms of reliability & smoothness. I mean there are no annoying kir kir like 4 gear cg engine & from reliability point of you this engine proved and done more miles with sealed engine compare to 4 gear cg engine. Knocking has been reduced in 4 gear engine as well but still 5 gear deluxe hardly produced knocking sound as well. These two things people always loved about Deluxe. But here two downsides of this engine when it comes to power output it lacks specially in Top Speed & Pick. Don't expect CGSE to be faster than 4 gear CG engine. CGSE I specially felt gears are very short even felt shorter than CB125F which has same engine don't know why may be because of sprocket or what seems Ahl has not done proper checkup or focused on this.
Style
Nothing different from regular CG because people love it as it is. But people loved the simpler graphics & chrome work in SE edition. Which gives in more retro kinda looks as these graphics matches old 90's model cg. Chrome side covers & front fork top gives classy look. But except that Ahl did not do any change in headlight or tail or turn signal even speedometer kept same. I think there should have been minor change like speedometer with trip meter & gear indication alteast. And as CGSE look more classy was better if stylish round light was installed and so little bit changed tail light as well.
Suspension & Comfort
Sadly is big disappointment rear suspension is little bit improved but this high price adjustable suspension should have been given. And front are exact same as in CG 4 gear. Which we know are not good for comfort. Ahl must have improved both suspension atleast. Seat of bike is again big disappointment they should have improved cushioning for comfort.
Rear Hub
Improved rear hub was an very popular demand but done wrongly as this giant hub breaks spokes again & again. Such an pitty such an world level company don't do any checkup before launching bike. And its shameful people faced so much trouble because of this and still in 2020 model I saw no improvement in 2020 neither in hub nor in spokes.
