I'd say go for sonata
Comfort would be good as it's a midsize sedan and you'd find it even better when u don't have to deal with TFSI issues or premium fuel especially with 2.0 variant which has slightly lower compression than 2.5 (basically same engine as elantra and tuscon).
part prices would be okayish for maintenance but if u break something it'd be expensive so I'd say insure it. But overall it won't be as eye watering as an Audi.
Resale wise, it'd fare better this time, when previous generation Sonata came out korean brands weren't as established globally and generally our market avoided anything beyond big 3 like plague except Germans and Imported Toyotas + a few kei cars.
Nowadays it's a different scenario People are more interested in Sonata than elantra as we are getting the latest generation that too at a bargain price when compared to other midsize sedan options (more than 10 mil for accord or 20 mil for camry). With civic turbo at 5.05 mil and next generation around 6 by the time you're thinking about selling your Sonata, I'm sure you'd sell it around or above invoice.
