i want to go with solox 18 inch now but amp is a problem and than i have to change the alternator of the car maybe get 2 alternator and than i need 2 or three batteries to power this thing to max? am i right or wrong ? and if u know anybody who is using solox 18 inch how much he spent on electrical upgrade and stuff. i personally will overhaul the whole car engine and everything but electrical information is critical thanks man

it doesnt matter with Kicker SOLOX or what ever

the basic power rates is all about the wrms you take out from your amplifier

if you put 2000Wrms @ 0.5 ohms / 600wrms @ 4 ohms Amplifier
and using it on 4 ohms - 55~60Amps alternator is good for it

when you take out 2000Wrms @ 0.5ohms , then you will need to put 180A alternator

All thing depends upon how much rms you are taking from your amplifier , for the LOAD

To test out whether your alternator is powerfull or not ,
hook Volt Meter on amplifier`s power terminals ,make sure voltage doesnt drops below 11v
whether at 4 ohms / 0.5ohms ,

i am taking out 850wrms , 75A alternator at medium rpm voltage doesnt drop below 12.5v

my car is in Pakistan not here but i am sure it has 90 amp alternator. where can i find alternator above 200amp in Pakistan and i want some amp really close to 5000rms plz help. and i will see that when i come to Pakistan and see it with volt meter

but jokes aside, seriously i still dont understand what sort of system are you trying to make?? even if you have the electrical support, will you be able to bear a 5000rms system? ur ears will hurt with just 1000-2000rms even...and thats enough for street pounding as well

you can make a great sound quality system for this much. and you can use very little of ur budget to go very LOUD if thats what you are after.

i agree with lafafa why waste all ur money just on bass.. if i have to spend that much i will go for some top end mid drivers and then get something like W7 to complete the sound quality rather than stupid bass oriented setup

dude...not everyone looks upto steve, or takes inspiration from him. and not everyone is a die hard bass lover as he is....atleast not enough to do what he does to his cars

and by the way, he will go deaf pretty soon...if he hasnt already
