Vehicle burglaries are a crime of opportunity, and would-be thieves often target vehicles parked unattended along the road side or in large parking lots. Recently incidents have been reported where in the perpetrators broke into the cars/vehicles parked alongside the road in the city, by smashing the back quarter glass of the vehicle and steeling the valuables lying visibly inside the vehicle.
As regards the modus operandi is concerned, the average burglar simply checks for visible property items inside the vehicle, unlocked car door handles, or alternatively breaks the quarter glass of vehicle, unlocks the rear & front door, spends less than a minute inside the vehicle, and target the visible attractive items, glove box, door panels, and center console.
