i recently bot a vitz 1999 thru amnesty scheme...since its fate is in limbo so im not spending any money in it oder than the routine maintenance stuff... so if any problem arises it has to b a DIY n i luv it
last week front left door auto lock mechanism stoped working so i hv to lock n unlock manually...i opened the door panel...removed the auto door lock actuator(its a white plastic unit)...i chcked it although the motor insyd was moving but not wid that much power that it can move to lever ol thru...bad thing is it a sealed unit i cut in in to 2 halves with a thin knife...removed the motor opened it n removed ol the carbon deposition with a body spray n emery paper specially the armature area...bt it didnt work..there is a metalic rectangular plate lyk thing in the motor between the electrical connectionz...i removed it wraped it itno a aluminum foil n inserted it again..closed the motor n put it back in the actuator asmbly.checked it by connection it to the electrical terminal n it worked flawlsly...greased the unit(cudnt find the ryt one so use normal lithium based)...used super glue to seal the unit n installed it back....its working perfctly

one thing more everyone use to remove the complete lock assembly bt i removed only the actuator by opening two small screws..bt u need a veryyyy small(in length) screw driver for that coz there is not much space there...
BTW its my 1st serious DIY with da car n its my 1st post on PW so lil encouragement will boost me
