The OD switch activates & deactivates the overdrive function. Keep it ON for optimum performance

NO, when its off then it works the way you are saying. When overdrive is On, all gear works. in overdrive off mode, for example your car has 5 gear transmission. it will only use 4 gear with higher RPM to give more power in each gear.
It's 1nz 1.5cc 5 gears I mean when od lights on it's consider as on or off dear
And you can also use for engine braking while using brake pedal. like we do in manual cars. because when you push OD button it gets off and down shift.
5 gears ? no i doubt that. do you have 3 or D3 mode ?
