Auto lock feature - City 2017

Wierd thing happened. Yet it happens more often. I go to my car parked in random parking spot. I unlock the car opens the door put my stuff in go to the other end or 3 to 7 feet away, the car is locked. Such thing happened more than once. Is this some sort of hidden feature??

I think this is by default as a security feature. Car would not be locked with key in ignition. I have observed that if you dont lock or forget to lock it will be locked automatically.

Yes it locks automatically within 15-20 seconds if not locked manually by remote.

If you unlock your car with the remote but do not open any door the car will automatically lock itself after 15 seconds but if you unlock the car with the remote and open the door and than close it the car will not lock itself.

By the way the situation I mentioned above is the only situation where car locks itself otherwise it will just stay unlocked
