Auto transmission giving jerks

I have civic VTi prosmatic 2005. The car gives a slight jerk and vibration for 1-2 seconds till the gear shifts from 2nd gear to 1st and vice versa. I have changed the transmission oil with ZIC ATF. The condition of Drained oil was red brownish. What could be the problem?

seems your 2nd coast brake is not releasing or your shift solenoids are acting up

if you put your car from N to D in standing position does it give any jerk or vibration ? if yes then first get your gear foundation checked and if not then its some internal issue of the tranny ...

as above members have told to get a good ATF and get your car checked from honda . I think you should also reset your car's ecu , it is done by disconnecting and then reconnecting the battery wires . But do get it checked from honda authorised dealer.

When color of transmission fluid turns brownish,it means there is a slippage in transmission,when the transmission fluid get hot,it starts becoming thin.Such an action disturbs the pressure levels of the fluid,which causing transmission to slip, and that is why you are getting jerks.So it is better get it checked thoroughly, why fluid pressure is dropping, Otherwise your transmission will be ruined.

Transmission shifts gears normally while the engine revs are not exceeding 3000 rpm, On pressing the accelerator pedal hard during 2nd gear, transmission shifts to 1st gear with a 1 second delay and with slight vibration. Is it a big issue? Because I am reluctant to open the transmission box.

by delay you mean that rpms go up for a second then the transmission catches up?
