Automatic Gearbox in a locally assembled Baleno

I have installed an automatic gearbox in my 2003 model locally assembled 1300cc Suzuki Baleno. I am having problems with the initial acceleration. The car lacks power and it is too slow on take-off. Can anyone help me out with their experiences:

What may be wrong?
How do I correct it - are there any adjustments to do?
Any mechanic who can help improve its initial acceleration?

If it was a genuine Suzuki Esteem automatic transmission, then I think tuning would be in order (unless the car has already been tuned to the auto transmission). The engine computer still probably thinks you've got a manual 5 speed instead of the automatic.

Hey guys what's wrong in having an automatic tranny in a Baleno? There is nothing to 'LOL' about. If you cannot contribute in a positive way then why bother posting?

As @Bilaltq said your car might still be running on the manual's ECU; did you check it?

totally agreed wid fahad, maybe it was beqar on quality, but wat else wud u expect wid 7.49 lack car wen cultus was vxr was 6 and VXL probably 6.5, this was a fully power pack car wid all the godies u got in any superior car, plus keyless entry, and an imobilizer

Also I was looking at another thing. The manual 5 speed 1st gear ratio is 3.55 : 1 vs. a 1st gear ratio of the automatic which is 2.81 : 1. This means that the auto first gear has more torque, and therefore your initial pick would be lower than it was with the 5 speed manual.

It's just an after thought. First get the car tuned if it hadn't been tuned already. I think the engines for the Baleno and the Liana are the same. I can't remember though if the liana 1.3 has an auto version as well. If it does, then well in good. If it doesn't, then getting the car tuned MAY require you to get an entirely new ECU.

sir first of all check quality of ur auto transmission, from where u got it and how sure u r that it is working 100% perfectly. I have an experience of converting the mehran to auto, i had to change 3 gearboxes than i got the desired results.s

my opinion....go to Honda cavalry motors(pit stop) and ask for Mustafa the foreman....he's a very sensible person with more than 15 yrs of experience...maybe he'll sort things out fr u...

take ur vehicle to a proper Honda or Suzuki dealer. There should not be any issues with the pick and in most likely scenerio, some adjustments may need to be made. Also a Baleno Auto transmission may also need to be connected to a few sensors or to ECU. Your best bet is a proper suzuki or a Honda dealer. he should have the required equipment and expert technicians to help u out

I did the same experiment with my Baleno 2001 and am quite happy because automatic transmission is doing perfectly well. Only some good CNG mechanic is required who will fix the problem in no time.

Brother u must have to sell ur car and purchased city prosmetic 2002 modle with almost same price.Sorry to say u riced ur car and its resale vealue.

As per my experience. the ECU of your Baleno is MT and you require AT ECU for your car to run properly in AT transmission gear box.

With AT ECU, it is impossible to get the desired result.

Your car is now running on one auto shift as your ECU is stock which comes in your Baleno.

You will get a japanese baleno 1.3 ECU from used market and go to a very expert electricion who can do wiring for auto transmission.

Better if U get original qaabli Baleno Auto tranmsission wiring.

Does your transmission shift at all? because there are 2 variants of the autobox, one is the electronically controlled unit and one the fully hydraulic transmission that shifts with the help of a speed governor and kick down cable

The electronic one uses the ECU to shift while the hydraulic one (usually 3 speed) relies on its mechanical governor and kick down cable to engage gear ratios

What type of tranny did you buy?

Honda Life 2009

Issue 1:

Engine check lite of cat converted after clear up by mechanic. He removed all the material from inside the Cat converter.

Issue 2:

I need to check my car Gearbox as gear shifting is very slow and fuel average is 11/liter without AC.

One mechanic recommended to get you gear box changed.

Anyone have any idea of mechanic who is specialized in auto transmission gear checkup or replace.
