Automatic shifting to CNG- Baleno

I got a Baleno 2003 model with FF CNG. It has a system of shifting to CNG automatically when engine temperature is sufficiently high. There is no manual sytem to shift car to CNG
The issue is that the car does not to shift to CNG untill temperature reaches to set limits. It is a special problem during winters as car some times never shifts to CNG bcoz the temp is less.
Some times the shifting takes place at some crucial moment on the road leading to swithing off of engine.
Result a lot of expenditure of petrol and inconvenience on road - of course for others as well.
Any solution please.

Well here is a solution

When u start the car before moving, make the RPM needle go to 2000 RPM ank keet it there for 2-3 minutes and 5-6 minutes in winter the engine will warmup and it will convert to gas,
Thats the method I have used for last 2 years with my Fathers car.

Baleno is EFI right, and you dont need a auto CNG switch. It is necessary in carborator based cars.

Simply replace it with a manual one, always set it on CNG and even if you change it to patrol it would be an instant switch (change) it will not even give you the jhatka like in carburator car.

I my baleno I have manual switch.....the CNG specialist advised me many times to go for auto one but I denied.....they are just non sense. They are bonus of our uneducated country.

I think there will be a problem of gas and petrol mixing with that switch and can it be changed from gas to petrol and from petrol to gas at any time.
Someone told me that EFi cars need Petrol to start

Infect if you use auto switch the EFI engine will start quickly that's the only reason they use auto switch on EFI, If you start EFI on CNG the engine may take few extra round to start. I always start my baleno on CNG and even if at morning you dont want to start on CNG simply switch to patrol and then switch back to CNG, this would be an instant change as it is EFI car the injector will stop the patrol immediately.

Guys, auto switch or not for baleno ....

either ways you need to have atleast a quarter tank ful of petrol at all times as the petrol pump is installed in the fuel tank and it needs to be submerged in petrol to work perfectly. if the tank is empty the pump runs dry and eventually it dies.

A new one cost somewhere aroung 4 ~ 6 thousand.

Auto switch to me is good as the engine shifts at the set time (specific heat range) which in turn puts less stress on the engine, and the kit/flow of gas works good/ok on high temperatures.

I have got zetronix auto switch installed with Landi Renzo kit in my car, the best part about this switch is that it never lets the engine take load on CNG and shifts back to Petrol.

This normally happens when going to murree/ pir sohawa etc... and normally in cold temperatures...

but in hot temperature (day time) the car shifts within a second it starts.

Are you sure the conversion is temperature dependent as I never heard of this before.

I only heard that the conversion is linked with the RPM i.e. as soon as the RPM hits the the desired level (2.8 in my city case), the car shift to CNG mode.

I have a PVR emulator with MAP 2 advancer and a ZETRONIX switch with display installed in my car.

U might have some other make hopefully LANDI RENZO.

Just find temperature wire from automatic switch and cut it then attach from switch side with ground wire (black wire).
It will be shifted only on rpm , temperature will bi skpped. I do it in my baleeno 2003 and till working.

Mas_mdk is 100 % right if one want to utilize Auto Switch.

But if u have ordinary CNG Switch(come with EFI CNG Kit) then simply replace this with older one.... Then Problem of Temperature dependance shall be resolved.
I did the same with my Baleno 2003. It runs perfect.

There is another way to shift your car on CNG during winter. as i have been doing this here at Quetta since last two months.

Start your car, its true that race your RPM to 2 or 2.5, then start your AC. Within a minute your will automatically shift to CNG.

This is my tested formula.

There are two points on which car shifts to CNG from petrol - first is temp(which is your case) and the other one is RPM(which is irrespective of engine temp when car touches certain RPM it will shift to CNG. both things can be manage by wiring combination . you can change the option just go to any good CNG mechanic he will solve your problem.

Yaar Nayyer dont want to waste his petrol.........so if he raise his car RPM for 3 minutes then u can imaging around 1 Liter petorl burns out every day.... this translates to waste of around Rs 65/- per day.
Also raising RMP for around 2000 RMP on every start of engine during cold, harm ur engine or even break its Crank Shaft... means engine damage.

Bilal Ahmed Memon is 100% right.... replace original Suzuki equiped switch with the switch equiped by CNG Stations... Ur temperature dependace and petrol waste resolved.
