execpt one of my 2nd cousin who got se saloon manual running with 350k driven so far with stock engine.
How much mileage you are getting in city and on highways? 2005 altis came with 4 or 5 auto gears? And whats the name of 1.8 2005 altis has?
Take the gear oil dipstick out. To just make sure the gear oil type is correct. I show you in the attached picture where you can see that. Does your gear oil has that chip chip feeling or it has burnt smell?
If its says TYPE IV. then no other oil only toyota ATF TYPE IV gear oil you need to pour. Attaching pics of gear oil i poured in my 2004 se saloon a year ago. you might find toyota ATF oil in silver big cans, only written like "toyota atf type". ignore that gear oil, shopkeepers kehte hain ji sab toyota atf me chal jata hai. just stick with the correct gear oil.
You might find like oil in big can or in the one, one litre can. Like i have got that.
One thing keep in your mind, Its your choice and if there is a need then open the gear oil pan because is model ki gasket is not available so mechanics use silicon instead. Agar ap ko gasket mil jae tou its awesome, or if silicon work will be done then make sure its done properly.
The issue i have faced was fuel mileage drop kar gae thi gari kafi sari. but with every refil it was getting better. someone said k gear oil change karne k bad koi calibration ya compter restart karna hota, well wallah alam, mileage was getting improved, sab kuch check b karwaya tha thek tha, went to electrician jis sey tuning etc karwata ho, he did the tunning again and ALhumdulillah gari ki mileage apni jaga agae. Just telling you this if ALLAH na karey asa ap k sath b hota tou dont panic.
