Hello.
I must after reading all the replys, I agree the must with "thexahid"
Before entrying my own reply, I have to say "Scandinavian, & Education" is very different from other countries.
thexahid mentions that u should go for the mother fields electrical and mechanical. I totally agree. There is so many options after that.
I dont know if this helps, but I will put out my route to become a Maritime Engineer, so maybe U get a better understanding of why going for the mother fields is best.
After 10th grade or (Matric) I think its called in Pakistan, in norway / scandinavian countries, u go for a college /High school. I jumped on the Electrical fields train. After one year of electrical, I finish with a very decent grade of 4.9 out 6. After that I jumped over to mechanical second year with no problem. Because basically first year of these to subject was quite alike, and I had no problems. Now the field was quite open for me. With mechanical, I could choose between Flight Engineer, Automotive Engineer, and Maritme engineer, aswell as maaany other lines. I went for maritime.
Im going to be done with the class 18th june, then for two years, I will have practicals. That means I will work onboard ships with Engineer and Learn from them, instead of sitting in the class rom. I will get a decent pay etc. After those two years I Have to go back to school for two more years before I finnaly graduate.
I reccomend if U have the opptuirnty to take this route "2 year school + 2 year practical + 2 year school"
First of all, it doesnt get over whelming with studies, 2 year practical is a nice break while it still a part of school. U build very nice reletion in the business so U have no problems getting a job, and I found this route the best.
Here in europe, the oppturinity for engineers is almust limitless.
Good luck, hope this helps a little, and if anyone has question. Throw em at me.
