First, I'm very confused in GLI A.T and Altis 1.6.
Masha'ALLAH I've a big family and as I've gone through some reviews about GLI A.T that it's underpowered and it's own body weight is much on such little engine and all.. I know it's not that bad!

Second, if I would buy Altis 1.6, and as I'm a non-filer then the total amount of the car would be crossing 2.1 million including registration.
So I wanted to ask you about your car's final amount and registration charges of altis 1.6.

Well GLi AT is ok, I mean there are many satisfied owners at PakWheels. I have not heard anything bad from Gli AT owners. The tax difference is 40,000 rs (GLI) and 100,000 rs (1.6) for non filers which means you have to pay 60,000 rs more tax while going for 1.6 and obviously other charges are also high due to bigger engine displacement and retail price.

Here is detail of cost of registration (for filer) in Islamabad. It does not include the 50,000 WHT because that was paid at the time of booking through a separate pay order.

Income Tax: 4,500
Reg Fee : 3,9440
Token Tax : 384
Scanning : 550
Plates : 1,000

Total: 45,874

Thanks for the response Some great and experienced members are suggesting me to become a filer if want to buy an Altis 1.6.. And that'd be fine for me too. 50K is a big amount that could be saved.

Brake service includes inspection, cleaning, adjustment if any and if done after every 10 kms, keeps the brakes trouble free for a long time.

I kept an Xli from 2005 Jan to 2015 Jan and only changed front disc pads from 3S after 100,000 kms and when I sold it at 134,000 kms, the rear original disc pads were still in good nick.

During those 134,000 kms just flushed and replaced brake fluid twice at 45K kms and 100,000 kms with power steering fluid and manual transmission oil.

Only changed one drive belt (that too protectively) during 10 years.

Wow, thats a very long brake change interval. Is that standard for Corolla in Pakistan ?
Any idea about the same for Honda Civics ?

By carefully, I guess you mean so slowly, so as not to require braking or drive on roads where braking is less required. Or perhaps, he is Fred Flintstone.

Come to think of it, 134k km in 10 years means very little usage. The average running is 15-20k kms an year. Since that vehicle hardly covered any distance, hence it required very little change

I think 15- 20 k km is good running in an year.

I am a careful driver. Drive slow when it is required and drive fast where it is required, but my kids and wife are constantly complaining that I drive too fast

In fact, Honda suggests 20,000 km per year as "expected" mileage on many of its models.

Although, here in Saudi Arabia, we regularly see a lot of mileage on cars, specially if the owner is expected to travel regularly for work. My colleague's Honda Accord (2014) has 55,000 km covered already in 1.5 years of ownership, mostly highway mileage. Another colleague's Nissan Armada (2010) has done 160,000km in roughly 5 years :P.

In contrast my Bimmer just touched 200,000 km in about 8 years (ie 25,000km / yr).

When you travel that little and constantly clean them at intervals, yes they won't need replacement, especially when driven in a clean smooth flowing traffic city like Islamabad

Salam , Mansoor bhai ,Congrats on buying this beauty and i see your quite enjoying it , i booked Gli 1.3 auto last week ,But because of late delievery and after viewing your thread and learning from it , i decided to go for Altis 1.6 as i think it is much better value for money and is alot better than 1.3 in alot of aspects, they promised me delievery in the first week of march , i will have alot of question's and will ask you once i get my car, oh and silver looks lovely on this model but i booked it in super white as already have a silver car at home, well wishes and do share current odo and fuel avg you getting
