I will give you an example.
For BMWs, its 2 years or 40,000kms whichever comes first for Brake Fluid flush. It uses the standard "DOT 4, low viscosity brake fluid". The mechanic told me that the reason to flush the brake oil is because this particular DOT4 oil absorbs moisture and this is not good for the brake fluid lines. So for this reason, the brake fluid should be flushed. However, there is no other brake service.
There is no brake service in regular service checks as well, and they only check for rotor wear during the inspection to confirm if the brake rotors are on their way out. Brake pads have their sensors to report when they need to be replaced. In my case, I have aftermarket Ceramic brakes, and recently I checked them after driving about 25,000 km, the pads still have a lot of life remaining. They say Ceramic brakes last a lot longer than conventional brake pads.
I had a colleague service his Honda Accord yesterday at the dealership and I just asked him, they did not do anything to the brakes.
