Axio Corolla Fuel Consumption Issue

So folks!
I have corolla Axio 2010 model from last four years. Initially it was excellent in fuel consumption (maximum millage per tank = 745 km).
From last few months fuel average is dropped to 550-560 km/tank. or simply 11.7 km/l. Although I tuned her up by cleaning catalytic, changed plugs (replaced with best available ones), changed timings belt, cleaned fuel filter etc.
After doing all these updates, I am still getting same 11.7 km/l fuel average.

Hopefully I will get some useful tips from my fellow pakwheelers to improve fuel average of my car.

N/T: Car is 2010 model, 4WD, and millage is 103000 kms do far.

Is your transmission automatic? If so, check for the transmission oil change. After that you will definitely feel the difference. Moreover check for the current coils for leakage. Also add a Toyota genuine Fuel Injector Cleaner with your tank fillup. But change engine oil after using that. Hope it works

You may add throttle body cleaning and transmission oil change to the list. If still not improved, then go for a diagnostic check by OBD scan in a toyota authorised dealership. I faced this issue once with mine and resolved after throttle body cleaning by toyota motors..

both the members have rightly suggested for transmission fluid change. check the ID plate of vehicle and identify the Trans/Axle type it has. since it is a 4WD variant you need to make sure of correct transmission fluid change.

Few months back, I changed cvt gear oil. I used the best available oil.

Cvt oil changed few months back and as per mechanic there isn’t any issue found after OBD scan

ok thats' a CVT transmission - best available is AISN or Toyota CVT oil anything else is highly doubtful

Check ur car's tappets

Sir kindly tell me ur cars mileage. If it cross 90 k than us 10w-40 semi synth engine oil. Best oils are
Mobil Super 2000 10w-40 for Rs 2400
Kixx G1 10w-40 for Rs 2100
As it is Pakistan so use semi synth oils as they are not much expensive and can run till 5000 km's easily. I'll not suggest u synth oils as they are comparatively expensive and our countries climate condition do not suggests to run an oil till 8,9 or 10 thousand km. If ur car is less than 90 k than use
Mobil super 2000 5w-30 or shell helix hx7 5w-30. These will improve ur car mileage a bit. Than replace ur gear oil. It will be effective . Clean ur fuel filter which is located under rear seats of ur car and at last replace ur spark plugs with NGK spark plugs of same size . They are available at Honda and as per my thought and as I've listened city aspire 1.5 spark plugs can be fitted in axio 1.5 but you have to cnfrm it.

Thanks for the best response. All the things U mentioned are done. The oil am using from day one is ZIC A+ (fully synthetic) and I change it after every 5000km.
Will definitely gonna give try to ur mentioned mobil oils. Hope I will get some benefits. Thanks bro

I regularly clean throatle body and catlatic converter after every 5000km
I am very keen about my cars and do their maintenance on time by good and trust worthy mechanics.

The last thing in my mind is check ur cars speedometer wiring or connect meter of another car and than check avg. Sometimes meter mai problem hota hai

Guys I have a 2007 Toyota Axio Fielder and it barely do 400 kms on full tank. I have recently changed the transmission oil and using Mobil 5w-30. Any idea what would be going wrong?

I doubt you ever got an average of more than 14kmpl on 4WD axio fielder. I have 2WD version and goes till 17kmpl on highway with light foot. In city it easily gives me 13kmpl. Now compare this with 4WD, average should drop to 11kmpl in city and 14kmpl on highway.

Check its catalytic convertor also have it scanned by some good mechanic to check for anu excessive fuel consumption.
