Azad Kashmir places to visit

Aoa fellows,

I am planing to visit Azad kashmir, coming from Islamabad, can you advise about the places to visit, considering I will be going there with my family on may car, on a 1-2 day trip. Hence places with bad roads or accomodation issues will not be possible.

bro i went last week roads are not that gud ...if u want to visit banjhusa and tolipir go frm kahuta side it is short .road is gud til kahuta and azad patan but is single...from azad patan onward road is a lil broken in patches...rest its a beautiful place hav a safe trip

Sharda, Kel and Tao But are real beauties but in 2 x days on own car one cant make it. It takes almost 8 hrs on own car to reach kel from muzafarabad and further 5hrs to taobut on jeep so minimum days required to visit these places is not less than 4days.The better optian is to visit sudhan gali n binjosa

AJK IS A HEAVEN ON EARTH...

I visited AJK many times, Neelum valley is breathtaking, to reach Kuttan is a tough job, but once you reach Kuttan.. you a see a diff side of the Earth.. one can not enplane in word... Go and see. you must have Good vehicle, I have been there once on Santro but, you have to take 4x4 to see the Tops from there onward, after my first visit in 1998... I visit AJK every year on my own SUV. Do visit don't miss it.

Yes i would be having 2 days for this trip, i am thinking of going to Toli Peer, Landasa not sure about this Sudhan Gali, can you guide about it?

And also is lasdana is a worth visiting place ?

for a 1-2 day trip from ISB, your best choices are:
go to rawalakot from isb and then visit banjoosa and toli peer and back to rawalakot and stay there.
isb to rawalakot is 3hrs trip may be 3.5 hrs
banjoosa and toli peer are 1 -2 hrs from rawalakot respectively and both are must places to visit,
u can then come back n stay at rawalakot for night, its very easy to find hotel there.
next day u can visit bagh and go to suddan gali from there, but it will include sum tracking as well
or u can chose to go to lasdana also. i have not been to lasdana my self so cant comment on that but bagh is a good 2-3 hrs drive from rawalakot n then suddan gali 1 hr drive

I am planning to visit AJK on May 7 to May 15 around 9 days with 4 of my friends. pls guide me the best places to visit and the places where i can stay at night. furthermore do i need camping tents? packed food? it is my first trip so pls guide me in detail

Hey Marfani,

9 days are too much if u r visiting in 2nd week of may,

Food is not an issue.

May is not the peak season so why don't u get the hotel u can easily get the hotel in between 2000 to 2500.

Many hotels also have tent arragement in peak season, so better is to get the tents from them on rental, because in May its extreme cold in Arang kel and Taobat, u wont be able to sleep if u dont have sleeping bags and proper tent.

Regarding the food, food is not an issue, u will get everything u want, thanks to shan masala nowadays even in remote areas all cook the same taste. Still if u want to carry, so best solution is to get the fresh mate pakced foods, they are not canned, they are packed in aluminium foil.

What is ur mode of transportation ? and budget, if budget is not an issue so i suggest hotels.

You need to hire jeeps if u want to go to kel or taobat.

I am also planning to visit AJK in first week of may. Our ride will be Corolla 2016. We are planning to visit Keran, Sharda, Kel, Taobat. What will be the best route? From Muzaffarabad or from Jhal Kand?

How far our car can go? How much time will be needed to reach Keran?

Can you give me time needed to reach Sharda from Keran, Kel from Sharda and Taobat from Kel?

Are there any good hotels in Taobat?

corolla can go till sharda easily, and if dont cary for ur car so u can go till kel.

But suggest is to leave ur car at sharda.

Kel to taobat is totally 4x4 track.

From Jhalkand u can not go on car, u need 4x4 and it will take around 9 hrs from batakundi to sharda

Keran to sharda almost 3 hrs

kel to sharda almost 2.5, make it 3 hrs with stop overs

Kel to Taobat almost 5.5 hr with stop over

toabat do not have many hotel only 2 or max 3 hotels, each have approx 3 rooms. they r not hotel actually.

And is that road open from Muzaffarabad to Keran? This road passes right beside LOC. Is that road safe?

Mu to keran almost 4.5 hra non stop.
But with stop it will be like 5.5 hr or 6 hr

After muz once u croaa neelun jehlum then u will see some border with indian . But at keran india is infeont

And ita totally safe now alhamdullilah

i was in neelam valley last year. I also took a corolla 1.3 A/T. Drove all the way from Lahore to Kel on that without hitting the road once... no issues at all anywhere... so i dont know which route people take or how they drive but trust me when i say u can take ur car to kael easily. From kael its a 4 x 4 whether u visit shounter or u visit tao butt.
where are u travelling from... i suggest you take muree... muzaffarabad... kundal shahi ... keran.... kael route... take a break at Kundal shahi (kutton resort or AJK or private guest house there) and then drive directly to kael...on the way back from kael take a break at keran...

Muzaffarabad saran is beautiful i think you have to visit
