B16A head on D15B block

I've dug up my thread as a sequel. The D15b with p2j ecu, manual tranny is working awesome. Absolutely no trouble. I've got MSD in there as well.

@Asad (Moak89): If i get the pm7 pistons, along with ZC head, what ECU would i need? Would the p2j work? IF not, can we piggy back with Vafc or chage of Ecu is a must??

Does anyone have a vafc for sale? I need one in working condition.

Whats the cost of a b16a second generation......in good condition taken care of and not abused??? Just need to get an idea, as prices have sky rocketed.

Exchange with my current motor would be how much?

stock d15b with pm6(D16a6) pistons
will give u 11.4:1 compression thats more then enough for your d15
but u need po8 obd1 ecu d15b block d15b head... and same d15b rods
forget about pm7 they go above 14cr lols

Salam to all.
I just recently solved the problem with my D-15B, which has a non-vtec head.

I just want to know if it is possible to use a DOHC B-16a head with D-15B block. I am not sure if we can interchange parts if series is different D Vs. B.
Please help. Else help suggest upgrades like Cams, Pistons and Ecu on D-15B with v-tec head to crank out Optimum horses.

How much would it be for the above inclusive of labor, gaskets, etc.

D-series parts cannot be used on B-series engine.

with the following specs

lift=0.384 duration=244
Exhaust
lift=0.370 duration=228

is more superior to the two camshaft specifications that I mentioned above and how is it more superior to it. do give reasons.

for superiority there are many aftermarket production cams...toda spoon skunk etc etc and i replied for the MINI-ME project !!! not for building a blue printed d15b block with aftermarket products!!
No harsh feelings bro but i just wasnt talking about ani afterm,arket parts
but d15b cam is just as aggressive as a ZEX 59300

dont confuse your self in S20 or S40... look for B000 series gear box and preferably LSD.

I asked for you to deduce the best in between the two but you clearly failed to do that and suggested a stock camshaft:S

secondly get your facts straight TODA Racing and Spoon Sports do not manufacture or design Camshafts for D-series engines (SOHC VTEC)

and I don't see any post that shows you asking a question about what camshaft profiles I showed you, but i'll let you know since you asked in this post

about the first two, these are custom grind camshafts. but surely a person like you i.e. (dedicating all his life to hondas should be able to spot the variations in the duration and lift of custom grind camshafts with relative ease , somehow I am having second thoughts about your (specifically made by your friend Sinner__) bold claims)................

d15b will do for it.... ani other aftermarket cam will do even better

you really don't know what you're talking about and have hence proven my point
and what in the hell is "RATA" , I think you seem to be referring to the fact of rote learning. lol dude these specifications are from an engine builder named JG engine dynamics (google it) you might learn a thing or two and these cams are meant for a D15 powered sand rail (now don't ask what a sand rail is)
now if you call using google "RATA" then I certainly have rata or whatever
but the fact of the matter remains you failed to identify the characteristics of a camshaft and when building engines (proper engines) you need to know in what sort power will you have in your rpm spectrum and how much of the power will be there in your desired power band. in certain situations high lift cams are required and in certain situations high duration cams or both or a balance of the two are required depending on the sort of setup you want to run, which is all useless information without knowing the Lobe center angles

observe the comparison of two camshafts and try to see how the power produced by them is varied throughout the rpm range by different duration and lift
and the graph showing what lobe lift and duration is

these are known as the basics of engine building. not suggesting stock cams and hoping the rest turns out fine. my replies are meant not to offend but to prove my point.

The only DOHC head you can put on a D-series is a DOHC ZC or D16A8(9) head, and this would be a NON VTEC head, if you already have a ZC VTEC (d15 vtec) then it would be better to keep it SOHC VTEC, than DOHC non VTEC.

If you want DOHC VTEC, get a B16A swap
