Backpacking trip to Iran or China?

I want to go for a backpacking trip to one of our neighbouring countries. I always wanted to go for India and arranged invitations from someone as well but now many people are telling me that it is near to impossible for a 20 year old guy to get a visa for India. Now next options are Iran and China. I want to travel by land on public transportations. I would like to ask for your advice on all visa matters and how much are possibilities for getting visa for land travel to these countries. And yes I am alone so far and anyone who want to join is most welcome.

I've been to turkey via Iran by road in 1991. We were group of six guys who were all hardly 18 at that time. It was a wonderful trip. So I advise you to extend your trip to turkey..Now-a-days all the up-to-date info is available online. First get a turkish toursist visa which is not a big deal.Check their requirements from the website. After obtaining turkish visa, Obtain the Iranian double transit visa which should be no problem aswell.
You will enter Iran via Taftan Border and then proceed to Zahidan. Stay ther for a night. Then take a bus from Zahidan to Tehran which takes almost 24 hours. Spend a 2-3 days in tehran and then take a bus from tehran to Istanbul which takes almost 60 hours to rerach there. You can also take the bus from tehran to Erzurum which is the first major town after crossing into turkey and then start your backpacking adventure from there till istanbul. rest of the info you will find easily on internet

Thank you for your helpful response faraz bhai. I have some questions,
First is it possible for me to take a solo trip as currently i have no group.
Second, how many days i would need, possible in 25-30 days?
And last, any approximate budget i should keep in mind?

Why Not..Solo is more fun but you have to be a bit more careful...Don't go to risky area alone at night..
25-30 Days are more than enough..
Expense depend om your way of living and eating..Prefer to stay in a hostel with room sharing..Its safe and more fun because you will meet people of many nationalities and you people can plan for sight seeing together..Waisay I think It should be within 100000.
