As mentioned earlier i was waiting for the Amps to burn in before i could write a review on them.
I feel that there has been some refinement in the sound as the amps have now come to show their true Signature and Sound Characteristics.
To start of just a little flashback;
Out of the box the Phoenix Gold Xenon Amplifiers sounded "Powerful".
With time i have noticed a positive change in the sound.
I haven't had time to properly tune the setup, but as far as the Auto EQ goes, it's pretty decent.
I have used and listened to a few amplifiers out there.
I am not the sort who would swear by whats on the paper, the parameters, and the price and all; rather i would be a judge to the sound reproduction.
My previous amps, Adcoms were quite nice, they were Suave.
BUT
They lacked solid power, definitely 40watts of A Class power is nice but it lasts till only a certain point, after that i could feel fatigue in the sound with the Adcoms, they are one of the best amps i've owned but yes they had some drawbacks as well, they wouldn't go loud without giving up.
When buying the Xenons i was skeptical whether they would be able to feed my need of a setup which is powerful as well as in control when playing loud.
My skepticism was thrown aback when the Xenons were fired.
My following statement would be enough to define the Xenons
The Top End is now more melodic and definitive.
The Mid End is grippy and has a life like feel to it.
The Lows, DAMN! The MBs hit you right in the chest with a bliss.
The Mono has made the sub completely disappear, you just feel the air moving but can't locate the sub at all.
The channel separation is just epic, each instrument is visible and perfectly staged as recorded in the music. There is no mixing of sound, each sound is "loud n clear".
I get to hear detail which wasn't audible before.
The amps have no signature sound of their own, they throw at you what is in the recording.
McIntosh i used was quite warm, Adcom had a sweet signature to its sound.
Xenons are the most neutral amps i've heard, there is no Twangy-ness in the sound like Alpine/Xtant/Focal/Helix and then there isn't any warmth at all like McIntosh/MMatts/Audison , sometimes it gets tough to bear the rough recording as you can easily get to figure out the flaws in the recording. But to an Audiophile having a neutral amp is a blessing. You can tune the sound according to your own liking. They are overly built and have quite A LOT of power.
Do i miss my previous amplifiers, NO
Would i buy the new school babies, A Definitive NO
Xenons are a keeper and they live up to their pedigree.
