Bad Fuel Average of my Toyota Corolla 2015😟

Hi PakWheelers I want to say that my Toyota Corolla 1.6 2015 is giving me a very bad fuel economy of 6.8 per litre and I am from Karachi and my car is only 9000 Kms driven what should i do? Please help me out.I have also checked the tyre pressure it’s ok and I am driving on completely Hi octane

It won't make much of a difference in driving your car only on Hi-Octane as the RON number specified by the company for this model is 92. However, we can rule out the cleaning of the catalytic converter as you're using a good quality of fuel, though the fuel economy mainly depends on the driving style and the road conditions if your daily commute is in heavy traffic with stop and go, then that might be the reason or if you put a heavy foot on the pedal, then that might also be the reason for the bad fuel economy.

Yes, if driving isn't too aggressive. Was just telling him that gli has the worst mileage due to it's power to weight ratio. CVT being the best.

No bro, he might not be misguiding as it is a common misconception about 1.6. People use 20W50 and mileage drops quite significantly, even the dealership once used taglon 5w50 in my brand new car things changed for the bettet when I shifted to 5W30

That 6.8kmpl is being displayed on meter?
If that's the case ignore that. Once you idle a lot that average starts dropping and stay low and takes a lot of time to recover on meter probably after driving several hundred km that shows some improvement.

Which Zic oil? Viscosity? Check it on the box. If it's not 5w30, start using 5w30.

You may take care of following aspects:

1. Engine oil must be 5w-30 only, preferably fully synthetic, from some reputed brand, meeting latest API (like SN, SN PLus, SP), and / or ILSAC GF-5 or equivalent above criteria.
2. Clean or replace air filter, if dirty.
3. Clean Throttle Body / plugs, if not done in recent times.
4. Use Regular Fuel.
5. When you perform tasks at Sr. No. 1~4, park your car for night and remove the -ve terminal of the battery for whole night, and connect in the morning. Do the idle re-learn procedure, and I am quite hopeful, fuel efficiency will become better.

Fuel economy also depends on a lot of other factors too; your driving style, road / rush conditions, etc.

For a same car, same driving conditions, 02 different persons will get different fuel economy.

For a same car, different driving conditions, same person will get different fuel economy.

Try to drive with soft foot, do not give sudden acceleration / braking. Measure fuel economy from full fuel tank to full fuel tank basis, and calculate manually accordingly.

1.3 gli auto had worse fuel average. 1.6 gives better then that. 6ish is too low.

2015 model car with 9000km odometer reading. Means ur daily use is less than. 5km. So what else u need??? Also few questions when did u change ur oil last time??
