Bad fuel average

Aoa everyone i have 2005 honda city
Engine is in good condition
Spark plug changed
Clutch plate change
Throttle service
Tappet adjustment
Engine oil zic 10w40
Air filter change
Still horrible average i.e 8KM/L
Kindly suggest solution

How is your driving routine? Is it mostly short trips in bumper to bumper traffic?

Mostly short trip 10 KM per day
No traffic signal nothing else
But i check average on motorway
With full tank

Then it's bad - for comparison, my 2003 Civic prosmatec (engine recently overhauled by @dani_kk) gave me 12 km/l without A/C measured over the last tank. It's mostly driven in rush hour traffic on Kashmir Highway and Murree Road/Park road.

start with diagnostic scan
then AFR
then cleaning of sensor(s).

what consumption figures u were getting when things were not this bad?

How is the catalytic convertor?

which spark plugs are u using?

How is the fuel system? have u changed its fuel filter in 40k km?

who did the tappets? adjusted as per factory specs?

u maintain 30psi tyre pressure or as mentioned on the door? using standard tyre size?

which city are you in? how is the fuel? do u randomly fill ur tank from any station?

Did not get term AFR
consumption was about 19K with AC light foot
There is no catalytic converter in this model
Spark plugs are NGK according to company manual
Fuel filter mean ? ( is it fuel pump filer? It was recently clean)
Tappets are adjust by mechanic was not according to service manual
Tyre are standard size recently changed tyre pressure is 30 i always filled tank from PSO also check others filling statins
One thing more recently injector also cleaned

Sorry i meant checking of emissions not AFR (air fuel ratio)

Catalytic converter is there in 2008 facelift of this model. i have one at home. it is supposed to be Euro 4 as per the stickers on the vehicle back then. your model might have one too.

Fuel filter cannot be cleaned. it has to be replaced. yes it is present with the pump.

This is all i can think of provided that there is no other problem with the engine. start with the emissions test. you ll get to know if ur sensors arent giving right reading.

also try switching to 10w30 or 5w30 if ur engine is reliable enough.
