Hi,

Based on 2-3 years of personal experiences, I have a few pointers for all Baleno owners and their chronic problems, which I feel like sharing. Although I am no expert at this, but I have suffered alot due to incapability of local mechanics. You may want to refer to this before spending big bucks on parts that your mechanic thought should be changed. I am also including some expert mechanics/electricians in Lahore and Isb/Rwp that were able to detect and resolve issues without me running all over the market for needles part replacements. (These are not my relatives or friends and I get no money out of referring them).
1. If you have a general issue to be detected or want to get your car's engine tuned up got to this Guy:

Asif Khan 0300-5270605 Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi. He talks alot but is honest and will tell you if something needs to be replaces or not.
2. Another guy in Saddar Rawalpindi is a Baleno Expert, he is a master diagnostician. He will not beat about the bush and address the right issue. He will never advise you to change your car's coils unless absolutely necessary. He has literally saved me thousands of rupees which I was willing to spend. He resolved the RPM drop issue. Power-loss during initial pickup and other things.
0321-5264577 Saddar Rawalpindi.
3. If you need "Kabuli" spare parts for your Baleno there is an expert guy, I have installed a couple of parts from him and they work like a charm. He even has good Baleno 1500 CC engines without coils. You might want to see that too.
Wajid Khan 0333-8235537 Saddar Rawalpindi.
4. Fuel Issues, my car was terrible on petrol and no one in Lahore knew what was wrong. I tried mechanics and electricians but it was point-less. I then gathered up my spirit and money and went to Suzuki Peco Road. Those guys took 2 minutes to identify the issue and resolved it, when others told me to get my crank-shaft censor and my coils replaced. Try them they are good. In the end you end up saving money.
Now some pointers that you might want to check before believing in your mechanic.
1. If you have an initial pickup problem get your crankshaft pully checked. It’s an issue in baleno and causes it to slip, resulting in low pickup. Issue with my car was that around crank-shaft pully there is a set of cables which were touching the body, causing the pickup issue. Make sure they are clamped and protected.
2. If your car if backfiring then Its not necessarily Coils that have gone faulty. It could be the advancer wiring or loose grip, crank-shaft censor needs cleaning or could be air cleaner cover which is loose.

Please share if your experiences and opinions are different from above.
