The majority of production cars (as said above) are not configured to go beyond 150kmph. Its not just a matter of road grip only, the suspension, engine and braking are just way over their limits at these speeds. You have very little manouvrability and zero braking on say a standard 1.3 Baleno at these speeds.
I believe that the 1.8 Altis auto (with ABS) has a limiter somewhere around 170kmph..... one can assume that Toyota put it there for a reason.
Though high speed runs on the M2 one can get away with and justify to some extent, though one has to watch out for any animals or obstructions on the road and pray that you don't have any problems with tyre burst etc. Knowing the time and distance needed by a 1.3 to go 0-160 and then back to 0kmph, it completely fails me why anyone in the normal state of mind would try this within the city.
... but then again I feel like an old man talking and knowing quite well my share of crazy stuff, I can only pray for safety of all pakwheel members.
