A lot more people have lost their lives to the practice of certain idiotic pointless "belief systems". OUTDATED belief systems may i add.

Its a delusion that dours with crushed glass shouldn't be used. Crushed glass is used in almost every dour otherwise the dour will just be a narra (dhaaga) and won't cut the other dour. I used to fly kites around 6 years back and never found a dour that had no glass thingy in it. Every dour that can cut your finger has a potential to cut the throat.

i am totally in favor of basant ... Govt should give us permission as large number of people are engaged with this business and i know millions of rs are invested everything is ready ... i am big kite lover meray pas basant sa related tamam news hain basant 20 and 21st Feb ko hai it is confirmed ...for safety measure,s KFA is ready to give antena,s to all bike owner,s for safety of their lifes...

I dont agree with the wastage of money thingy. This could be a way to generate revenue. Fireworks across the globe, festivals every thing should be ban. People who are commenting it as waste of money should watch the wedding and events in their home. if we wont flow the money, how will the system survive. It used to be a great source of income for many people. We cant curb the poverty by just feeding them. Why not to generate more industries to have more employment. Kite flying industry would generate income for many families. I Agree that it has led to loss of many lives but cant we put a strict check on it rather than banning it ?

Its just like we stop people using motor cars because accidents happen. Proper way has been adopted and rules are implemented to avoid them.

how much they spent on the lighting at night
how much they spent on the guests they invite from the special market
how much they spent on Dhol nd tashay
how much they spent on the Tulli Juice

i agree with punk.
most of the ppl working during these days are poor and it became healthy source of income for them in past. All this should not be banned but proper security arrangments would make it good for all or us.

I have been flying kites all my life but i quit it about 4/5 years ago when it becomes a killer game. It used to be a harmless entertainment in past but ppl. with black money started abusing it by involving indecent activities in it like drinking and arial firing plus some sting makers invented a chamical that made it lethal for innocent kids/motorcyclists.
All the sober citizens thanked God when it was banned by the honouable Supreme Court of Pakistan forever. Since then some ppl. with vested interest are trying to revive it on the name of culture and entertainment but the citizens of Lahore still remember the dead bodies of their young ones who died on roads and on the the roofs of their homes.
I am sure the Punjab Government will never allow this " KHONI KHAIL " again in Lahore. We dont want to see our kids in the danger of throat cutting again.
Last year the Governor allowed it to fail the long march for the restoration of the independent judges but he himself failed and ppl. fully participated in long march instead of flying kites.
