Hopefully it will pass by peacefully. Proper arrangements really need to be made and the police should be ready to apprehend anyone running across roads trying to catch a stray kite.
No question about the "glass dorr" being banned.

Bro from where u got this news according to my information there is no basant bcoz supreme court banned kite flying. and i also checked with one of the member he said they r trying to get permission form chief Minister but he refused but Spring festival will start on 13 Feb 2010

well said bro, look where our country stands this time and ppl still want to celebrate it. millions will be spend and burnd but if u ask them to give some money to poor ppl who really need money, they will show u empty pocket. common guys, we celebrate it every year but what about not this year and send that money to tribel areas to those ppl who lost every thing or to childern whos fathers died in sucide attacks and they have no source of money. i hope wudt take any offence of my post and will think about it.

Three people lost their lives and scores others were injured while celebrating Basant festival in various cities of Punjab on Friday.Similarly, more than 40 people were injured while flying kites or running after them in Kasoor, 5 of them injured critically were shifted to the General Hospital Lahore.

R u guys against the basant or against flying kites with glass dour??IF u don't demand it they wont sell it.Y can't v reconcile our own deeds rather then pointing fingers at others??
As for giving money to IDP's,well i'm sure u know that it's already been deducted from salaried person's every month,and it will be deducted @30% on any/every bonus given by any company(Now dont tell me that money is going in Mr. Z's pockets and blah blah,ppl r giving it,it's a job of govt to use it where it is supposed to be used).
Bahi meray,agar koi apni entertainment par 400-500 laga dayta hai tou iss mai kia burai hai??aaj kaal tou cinema ki eik ticket aati hai itnay mai..uss par bhi ban lagao na phir.
P.S. I fully agree on banning glass dour.rather i urge a self-ban of not using it.

its a long discussion many will disagree but advantages of basant

1) Fun
2) Get2gether
3) Entertainment

Disadvantage
1) Wastage of Money
2) People Die Alot not by glass dour also by the falling the of kites to the roads and kids rushing towards them

If we disagree with the disadvantages for the sake of fun then there is another main point

Our country is under attack kuch bhi ho sakta hai pehle sindh me nahi tha ab sindh tak aa chuke hai so ager celebrate kia bhi jata hai tu in secure way for the sake of other pakistani brothers and sisters
