Basic Accord CL9 Modifications

Hello Friends,

Just wanted to share with you the basic modifications i did to my CL9.

Installed a 22mm Rear Sway bar which replaced the stock 11mm sway bar. Noticed a change in handling on corners and now can turn corners at more speed compared to the stock.

Second mod. i did was to install Hondata Intake Manifold Gasket. Still need to do more trial to see whether the below claim is true or not !!

"Hondata have developed a special high temperature insulating gasket which replaces the stock intake gasket. This and bypassing several heat sources significantly reduces the transfer of heat from the head to the intake and incoming air giving you up to 3 to 5% more power."

"For every 3.3 °C (5° F) rise in intake temperature, air density drops 1%. The hotter the air, the less fuel the computer injects to compensate for reduced oxygen"

Issues noted with such gaskets are warpage due to irregular heating, gaskets like these are good where assemblies are not bolted through but have some sort of external fasteners compressing it, the studs sticking through the manifold will transfer heat and the insulation of this "performance" gasket will prevent the heat to be transferred from the head to manifold which will cause hot spots that lead to warping.

Makes you wonder why Honda decided to use a metallic sandwich for this application and even the cylinder head to block.

So i decided to take friday off and head to lahore on motorway. The progressive sway bar performed awsome in the salt range section of kalar kahar. Amazing improvement of handling on the sharp bends and curves. A must have mod.

The intake manifold could not be touched by hand as it would get really hot but after installation of the gasket i can touch it even after 4hrs of driving. It means that the gasket is doing what its suppose to do.
