Battery Acid Damaged Paint

Yesterday when i Opened the hood to check the fluids I noticed some white residue under the battery. Started looking around and I noticed that my battery spilled acid all over the fender and damaged the paint :mad: What should i do now ! get it repainted ? which will devalue the car i think

I've also changed the battery to maintenance free one.

its very common and nothing to worry about do not do anything with it just leave it alone

get the resale thing out of your head, if you dont fix this rust then the acid that is now etched into the paint will proceed to eat all the sheetmetal away and you will then have a giant head ache of a problem to fix which will include welding new pieces of metal sheet.

Remove the battery, neutralize the area with soda scrape off all rust and paint over it, solve the original problem too, why did the battery spill out? did you overfill it?

You will have to clear the surrounding areas of rust with sand paper and later you may opt for aerosol paint.

well resale stuff nothing happens as most of ppl check Show Shaw of cars most buyers nevwer bother to look to close
it happend to one of 06 ALto and Car on the out side is still all JENIAN no paint spray but urs is very small damage battery on Alto leaked all hood engine and inside frame were badly damaged owner got it sprayed and it was all good but after spray agian the driver filled battery and it all happen again this time radiator and ac grill is rusted too bad

Happened with me once in my 2005 alto...but in my ride more area was covered with rust due to acid spill from the battery....Just got the whole area repainted ..by the way looking at your rusted area it doesnt seem much but rust tends to spread so u should take measures...which is what friends over here have suggested and so would I and every professional out there, Don't waste time and get it treated A.S.A.P and as for the re-sale dun worry about that....

I find it quite amusing that this "original jenyan thing" has taken such a toll. Something that is damaged yet original is called "SCRAP"

I hate that JENION phenomena....
They wont accept a new replaced part but need a scrap which needs permanent maintenance.
A frnd of mine was looking to buy an Indus corrolla & was a die hard lover of JENION stuff. He rejected many good looking & well maintained cars just for the reason that they were touch up from some places.
Lastly he bought a JENION car which had a rustly body with paint faded from almost all over. The engine was also JENION but most of the sensors were disconnected with engine having no engine oil in it. air filter housing was broken from a dozen places. Side mirrors were not working.
But atleast he was happy to find a JENION car. WTF

Suggestion about this damage due to battery acid soaked car cover. Can this be treated? Should I buy this car? Cat is otherwise all perfect

hahahah this is our market people thinking. they need JENYAN car but with khatam body and engine lol. i went to buy corolla . half of the car was scraped there was no paint or removed. i would rate 3/10 to that car and doors were badly scratched and he was proudly saying its JENYAAn. i said easy Jenyaan ka achaar dalna Atl east keep the ride clean and good in shapw lol

same happened with me. when I bought the car this place was rusted so the denter painter removed the rust and then repainted it
