Battery dead and unable to unlock car

Maintenance-free, do you mean the dry cell battery? I tried dry cell, but it barely lasted two months.
Yes, out of all the brands, Phoneix and AGS are the best. In my case, each lasted eight months.

I have Grande with Excide, but I don't remember checking its battery water. I guess the battery issue is remembered as a known fault of Civic X.

I have read about many known faults in Civic X. But this one is a new one for me.

Im not mentioning charging voltage but dark amp draw,

It means testing what system or component is switched on in the car when its off and asleep.

Make sure the battery insulator cover is present, if its not the battery life will be severely shortened.

Ok so first of all let me say that this is not normal. It must be faulty alternator or some other magical thing that Honda is not yet able to diagnose. My friends and my bro has this model and all have the same problem. Another one changed the battery and replaced with dry cell and still his car gave issues in starting as battery had no power. Honda Atlas should be ordered to pack up and skedaddle for making such a crappy car.

Please allow me to explain the situation as per my experience... The issue is with the battery. AGS is also part of Atlas group and their batteries have had some problems with poor reliability and performance. Secondly I think the battery is too small for the car! When the car is off, some functions are still running and that drains the battery. When the car starts the alternator will pump a high amount of energy into the battery based on its state of discharge and this the battery cannot hand…

Most interesting. I own a 2017 civic which is essentially the same car as yours. You did not say what happened when you tried the key in the passenger door? I cant believe that both the driver and passenger door locks are not opening with the key. I have had this happen to me and the car opened just fine with the key.

Thanks guys. My issue was resolved, guy came from Honda and just pulled the lid hidden inside right fender and that's it, easy access to bonnet.
