Battery dead and unable to unlock car

Battery is dead for Honda civic 2018 so unable to go through keyless entry and also manual key is not opening the lock. Any idea suggestion how to open the door or bonnet so I can replace the battery.

Your key hidden in the remote should be able to open the door.

Yes that key is somehow not opening the locks.

Even though it's the key is rotating fine from outside but nothing from inside. Do you think oil will help still

I tried using the physical key in new City and it worked. Not sure why it's not working for Civic.

Try it on the other side, you might have to remove the cover.

You final resort would be, to find a key maker or someone who can remove quarter glass and make entry inside the car.

I doubt the car has a lock cylinder on passenger side.

Might as well get to work and try popping the bonnet externally. I think someone has messed around with the door lock latch system.

Actually I have only seen the lock cylinder only on 5 mins craft videos

also I remember once my uncle unlocked a Margalla using a scale removing the weather strip on the driver door.

I was stuck in the same situation about a year ago. I couldn't open the door using the manual key when the battery died.

The key maker tried to unlock the door using a thin piece of metal wire from the drivers window side. But he gave up after multiple tries.

He then tried to force open the bonnet. But he damaged the bonnet wire that I had to replace later on.

In the end, the only way to get inside was to break the small glass near the back window.

I got the door lock repaired after the door was unlocked. I also made a simple copy of the key without programming for immobilizer to keep at home to avoid such a situation again.
You feel so helpless when locked outside.

bro, i just check this forum, next time if such matter, you need a external battery and connect negative terminal to car chases ground, and positive wire to the alternator charging port on. this hack can be perform by lay down under engine compartment from where you can reach to the charging port .

I still remember it happened with my civic. The battery was dead overnight. The physical key was not working, and the doors were locked. I had to arrange a denter to open the bonnet via the right fender. Later, an electrician changed the battery while the car was parked at my home. It was such a hassle. I have been using civic X for four years and replaced more than seven batteries.

You replaced seven batteries in 4 years?

My man!! You need to do a dark amp draw test on your car to see what is killing it and meanwhile put the car on a battery maintainer/charger.

The charging voltage was around 14.1 V. Lasted checked a few months ago from Honda Avenue. The batteries drained, and we had to top up the water after three days.

P.S: I drive 100 km on average per day.

I don't think battery is used much when driving. It is used for starting the engine. There must be something wrong with the charging system.

You should also try a maintenance free battery. I have installed this type in both my Corolla and Civic.

I have heard that some battery makers are selling refurbished batteries.
You should buy from a reliable seller.

Brand also matters. Good brands in Pakistan in my opinion include Phoenix and AGS.
