is it safe to relocate the Mehran battery from engine bay to under the dashboard behind the gear. Using Daewoo maintenance-free battery. and taking all the proper safety measures
Why do you want to relocate the battery?
to make engine bay look cleaner
I don't think that's a big enough reason to put the battery inside the cabin, even with all safeties it's a safe option for battery to be placed inside the cabin
Not advisable. I would hate to read your next post: HELP! MY MEHRAN BURNT TO THE GROUND!!
hahahahaha ok. kindly suggest me any other place than engine bay where it will be safe as well
Go for it man, ensure safe wiring and proper installation. If you are DIYing this, it would be appreciated if you document this over here : )
in sha Allah brother. I am motivated by Haji Hameez the boy having a youtube channel Team 4K. In his vehicles and his friend's vehicles, all the project cars have batteries in the cabin on the passenger side floor. but I plan to keep it behind the gear as it is the space. Secondly, currently, the vehicle is now on normal battery which requires maintenance. I will change it with a maintenance-free battery and will do proper wiring. in addition, I have a plan to install a heat-proof sheet on the engine bay wall from inside the cabin. I have recently maintained the dashboard wiring a few months ago. but on the safe side, I will recheck it and cover it with piping or any other material which can help in fireproofing. The most important thing is I will ensure at least one fire extinguisher in the car but will try to have 2 fire extinguishers.
Batteries, both wet and maintenance-free, emit fumes from their active acid contents. These acidic fumes, if trapped, pose a seriois health risk and can corrode surfaces too. The cleanliness of your engine room is, of course, up to you.
the corrosion is no issue as there is already matting done.
How about the health risk, the driver and passengers will remain exposed to the concentrated acidic fumes of hydrogen sulphate. It behaves very nasty while passing through the bronchial passages.
Seems BS to me. Most German vehicles got batteries inside cabin.
All factory fitted options and applications are employed after many years of detailed research and development of the concept.
The factory fitted cabin mounted batteries are fitted nearest to the cabin breather. There still exist a physical separation from the human inhabitation area and the battery compartment of the vehicle.
mostly I drive alone. Secondly, there is no AC installed, and the windows are down except on rainy days. there is no issue with the ventilation. and the drive is not more than an hour or a maximum of 3-4 hours. I think its not an issue
which research brother same car is being manufactured from 1989 to 2019 with same specs, even a nut bolt is not changed. in 2012 the company suddenly woke up and replaced the carborator engine to EFI euro II engine just that all in 30 years thats all
Thats a really stupid reason to relocate the battery.
The context is for any automotive product be it Mehran or Cyber Truck.
At design phase all studies and best practices are employed to provide the best possible compromise or option in the given category and price. Further the design continues to evolve through the lifecycle of the product.
