search on internet any circuits for a charging circuit powered by a battery,, design the circuit, do the calculations as what output u need and what rating of capacitors and resistors are required, and u r good to go..

its not that much easy, but if done will not be heavy on ur pocket also.

Well yes there is a 8cell powered battery I created at home, It gives me 3 hours of modem functionality on full charge and in total cost me 600rs for the battery along with the charger. It powers my Worldcall Webstar modem easily and I find no reason why it wont power up any of the PTCL modems on offer. Its been more than 4 months since I started using it and till this day it runs perfectly fine. I would have been glad to post a pic of the solution I'm using if I was in Karachi, even would have built it for the ones in need of it. Rest assured once I'm back on the 14th I'll share the details and the process in case some of you are interested.

there is a hint for you, if you don't want to get into hassle of circuit designing just buy an emergency light from a pathan, these emergency lights contains a small circuit to convert AC to DC and store in connected AAA size batteries. you can later change batteries or increase number of batteries depending on your requirement

man as ur Router need just 12v DC to operate so u don't need to buy expensive UPS, u can run it on a 12V battery, if u know about electronics then u can made it urself, just a piece of cake

a homemade ups would be nice and cheap, but you can also get a mini apc ups which is made for modems

yes .. apc 650 va is also available is market but apc 650 va is good for offices only where genset starts in seconds or minutes .... 7ah battery present inside this ups is not for hourly backups plus the charger is 1 ampere which means it ll take 8 hours to recharge if discharged completely ....... with 1 kva of apc u can run ur light fans routers tv laptop etc ....... so its wud b better u go for 1 kva with liquid hi rating batteries .........
