Poster Bro, AlhamdulALLAH i am a qualified CA can clearly say that accounting and Business finance field is saturated to hell not only in pakistan but abroad as well. Specifically for abroad and upto some extent for pakistan accounting / finance is undergoing automation at an immense pace thus shrinking already brimmed sector.
If your friend does not have passion, enthusiasm and deep interest for finance (not accounting as it will be a matter totally handled by computers in a time of 10 year) , stay away from it.
Now coming to point wise answers:
1) Are these equally easier then engineering fields?
Study cannot be classified as easy / hard in my opinion. To become a big gun in any field one has to reach the top level of study and every field gets tough as you approach excellence in study of any field.
We in Pakistan also suffer form '3 Idiots' dilemma, choose what you like to do and you are good at.
2) Job Market and Avg Salary:
As told earlier extremely saturated, need a heavy pawa to get job, has to face fierce competition and TC people and salary for BBA, MBA from average university starts at Rs.20k-35k and private companies will kick the ass out once a guy reaches Rs.70k to Rs.80 K salary as they get the same amount of work from a similar fresh guy in a lot less.
3) Sector
Banks, private service provider, manufacturing companies hire finance people to manage finance and accounting departments. MBA and BBA usually gets entry as juior finance executive mostly responsible for punching entries and JVs. Almost all of better / large (high payers) companies' finance departments are dominated by Chartered Accountants and they dont let MBAs / BBA to senior positions.
As for engineering and Doctors the scope in my opinion is endless and i am saying this on the basis of my industry experience in a company which hires mechanical, electrical and chemical engineers.
