Belta 1.3 Engine, Oil and Fuel Mileage

Hi, I recently bought Belta 1.3 2SZ-FE, 2012 import. Wanted to know a couple of things about Belta:

• What is the fuel tank capacity in Toyota Belta 1.3 2SZ-FE? is it 42 Litre?
• What is the fuel mileage that it should give within city and on highway? So far I have witnessed that its between 9-10 km/ltr within city. Didnt try on highway yet.
• What type of Engine Oil will be suitable?

Shell helix 5W30 with toyota oil and air filter. It should give 10-13km/l in local and 15-17km/l on long.

I think it's the same as vitz 42 litres.
City 10-12km/l
Highway 14-16km/l
Engine oil 5w-30 or 5w-40.
But all this depends upon driving style, which city you lives in & vehicle total mileage.
If you are in Islamabad or lahore & travel on open roads then average will be better.
If you are in other city & most travel is in traffic or short routes average will be less.
If you car is driven less than 200k km and Engine have no problem, no oil reduction, no white smoke etc then use 5w-30 or 5w-40.
Also check the following
1.New Coolant in radiator after flushing the old one or the water.
2. Check the thermostat valve & all hoses.
3. Check the Air & Ac filters if too dirty replace. The price is between 300-600 each and change at every 10,000km.
4. Check and replace spark plugs if they are very black. Always use genuine plugs.
5. Check the catalytic converters, clean them only if pick is not good & fuel economy is low but don't remove it.
6. Check fuel filter at last if it's dirty replace with new genuine not Chinese 2000 wala otherwise leave it as it is.

I Started using Ardeca 20w-50 3.5 ltr Engine Oil for my Belta. Just wanted to confirm is that also OK? I just know that this quality is more thick, I believe. On the other hand my fuel mileage is great now, giving me 12-13km/ltr within city.

I have changed assembly, when I take oil dip stick when car is start oil jumps n cons out. Mechanic says it natural not to worry

Dear as i tld i have placed new assemblywhich oil will be best. My engine is still giving bit nosie may b its normal.
How mush fuel will be left in reserve 6 litre or 10, whats full tank capacity till neck,i am having 370 around without reserve.i
Consumption seem to be still low,however exaust is even giving water.

If engine is not reducing oil then use any good 5w-30 oil.
Total tank is 42L and reserve lights comes on 37L meaning 6L are left in tank.
Always fill tank when last 2 bars remaining don't drive on reserve only when it's an emergency.
370 km means 10km/l which is good enough.
Try to drive on low rpm you can get better average.

Today i asked mechnic to chg eng oil n grear oil. But he didnt chaged grear oil after checking that cont with this oil till it works. As by chging gear oil it might work or might not. Plz suggest.pls consider gear oil is old n need to chg.

I think, the mechanic is Jahil.

Transmission oil's purpose is to provide lubrication between the moving parts, dissipate heat, etc. It also gets deteriorated with the passage of time, and accordingly, must be changed.

Transmissions do not fail when you change the transmission oil. They may fail if you keep on dragging the old transmission oil for long periods of time, or pour in incompatible transmission oil (like ATF in place of CVTF, MTF in place of ATF, etc.)

But still guys on forum says they hv issues after changing cvt transmission oil. I m afraid that by changing i might go in trouble as now pick is great. But we checked oil is too old.

Brother after changing CVTF, if issues arise, then reason may be something else, and not the CVTF itself, provided it was compatible and as per OEM recommendations.

If pan is opened, filter is cleaned / replaced, magnets are taken care of, calibration is properly done, oil level is neither under-filled nor overfilled, etc. Then such issues never arise, unless / until some important things get overlooked resulting in such issues.

The one which suits your transmission. If your vehicle comes with CVT, then it will most probably be Toyota CVTF-TC or CVTF-FE. TC or FE will be written on the CVTF Filler Bolt. Check, confirm and only pour in the right and recommended CVTF.
