Guys, I just checked out the generator market near tower in Karachi. It's flooded with Chinese brands. I'm looking to buy a 2.5KW generator. The difference between Chinese and Japan made Honda and Elemax was huge.
Honda and Elemax generators were quoted at around Rs. 85,000 and Chinese ones were between 22,000 (aluminium wiring) to Rs. 32,000. The models I checked were all for 2.5 or 2 KW.
Since the price gap is so huge, I'm now thinking to buy a chinese gen.
According to the shopkeepers, the best Chinese generator these days, according to buyers feedback is 'Powerpack'. I never heard about it before, so I got confused. There were other models as well like Loncin, Yamaa (not Yamaha), Powerful, and many others. All were priced at around 30,000 with gaskit and installation
Do you guys have any idea about Powerpack? (it's a red color generator). Also, though I couldn't see Jasco there, but how is it? Heard it's Chinese but the best among all others. There's also a Kenwood generator (brand name I can't recall). I got the brochure for that gen in my credit card bill. Also available at 31,000 for same KVA. Anyone have any idea about that?
