What evaporator? where is it located? I can see snow on small pipe, normal temperature on bigger pipe. No hot air coming out of the outer fan. I cleaned filters last night. This is second season that I am using this AC, is service due? what they do in servicing?

By Evaporator i mean the inside unit of ur A/C. it contains the evaporator.

BTW did you try running ur A/C is it running or not?

2nd season hmm i dun think it needs service...

Did you try running the a/c on fan mode for like 20 to 30 mins than try running it on normal mode?

I use to face same prob with my National Window type a/c bcoz national a/c got weak air throw and the evaporator is also kinda small with very narrow fins it use to get dirty very quickly and once in a season ur sleeping and suddely there is no cooling.

You open up the filter cover and u can clearly see the evaporator coil is all ice so i use to take out the air conditioner wash the coil and put it back in it was easy with window type but with splits you need to call some one to help you.

Simple trick would be to take a air blower and try to blow at the fins of the inside unit and see if its working.

I cleaned those coils last night with tooth brush and also washed both filters. I have complained for the technicians, they will arrive in an hour or two. I told the dealer that there is ice all over the small pipe he said then it gas leakage and AC needs to be serviced.

Which one is fan mode in AC I have no idea. There are three modes in my AC. Anyone with LG AC can tell me which how to switch to fan mode.

Gas Leakage hmmm I dun think so. But ya service will solve ur problem. .

If ur not using ur a/c from over 2 hours ice Must be melted and ur a/c should work.

You can google about "evaporator frost" and you will have the idea

A technician from a near by workshop checked the inner and outer and figured out that a yellow liquid is dropping from the compressor probably, According to him it's a big leak since it happened so fast. Gas is gone. I stopped him in proceeding further and then went to dealer and asked him to launch complain with LG. Hopefully will be accompanied by LG people day after tomorrow.

Looks like a factory fault to me, also the technician told me that he first time has witnessed this problem in LG.

I didn't sleep all night and it's too hot that I hardly would be able to sleep.

hmmm.. Interesting. If its true we normaly dont expect such things from new A/C and that also of a so called top brand .

Good thing you stopped him, you should get this fixed under warranty.

BTW when gass leaks the compressor oil that also cirulates in the gas pipes comes out and if you see oily pipes or oil around outer this is a indication of gas leakage.

BTW one more thing when you turn on Air Conditioner did you check if your compressor turns on? Normaly when gas leaks the compressor will not start at all.

Yaar i told you before, i think in this same thread, LGs are not flawless, we had 1 and we did not have a good experience with it but again baat naseeb kee hai, as they say, Electronic item hai challa to 10 saal bhi chal jaye ga, na challa to aik din bhi nahi !
You better get its faulty part Replaced as its still under warranty !

Can anyone suggest me about 1 ton kenwood AC. How's its performance. Besides how much electricity it consumes and whick model is better.

Yaar I am using Kenwood Novelty series 1 Ton A/C.

Its been 3 months so far its working fine i also bought Gree Air conditioner 1 Ton the performance of both a/c's are same but gree got better air throw.

I bought Kenwood for 22038 and Gree for 26500.

Electercity consumption it takes 1250W.

Waisa my Suggestion will be to Buy Haier or Gree.

Because people say Kenwood's built quality is not as good as Gree or Haier.

Baki as far as models Kenwood's Flora has a nice design.

Yaar does it consumes lesser power than Haier or Gree or they all are the same regarding power consumption. I have heard Haier consumes lesser energy as compared to others. Is it true? What has been your experience?

Hmm Well Haier Claims it got Mitsubhishi compressor in its units so thats an advantage over kenwood which i think got a chinese compressor. (Even though the metro installer told me it got mitsu compressor which i dun agree)

If you go by specs of Air Conditioners Kenwood will be consuming same amount of electercity as Haier but if you set a temp of lets say 24 the thing that will matter is which Air conditioner will achieve that 24c quickly and turn off its compressor this is where electercity is saved.

So if you can pay extra than go for haier if you cant i am happy with Kenwood no problems at all

We ran 2 one ton air conditioners (Kenwood and Gree) around 8 hours a day, along wih a 3 HP Injector pump 2 hours a day (that takes more electercity than any 1.5 Ton A/C more than even general) and 3 TV's and a lot of other things so our this months bill was 8100 Rs. 920 Units.

bhai yeh terms and condition main likha hai ke stabalizer zaroori hai, kahin aisa tu nahin hoga ke company wale isi baat par aitraaz kardein? maine stabalizer nahin lagaya hua. Hopefully they'll visit by tomorrow.

Yaar s55 waisa this is what i hate about Pakistan u know. When some thing fails 1st they will try and give u all kind of BS like sir voltage kum tha plug sahi nahi tha wiring main prob hai app ka ghar main flactuation hai and blah blah.

Lets see how LG customer care responds to your prob.

If you got proper voltage in ur area and proper circuit breaker installed tu phir there is no prob.

Keep in mind that Mitsu in lowest in power consumption. I am using Mitsu model 13VD, 1.1 Ton (Model 2005). Its consumption is 990 Watts only. I have checked with clamp meter in live. It is still chilling since 4 seasons. Never servised from market.

General Is Still Strong As It Gives 17 Years Compressor Warrenty But It Got Piston Type Compressors Which Suxx Electricity Big Time..Where As The Other Rotary Type Compressors Consumes Quiet Less Than That....General's Windows Sells For 7-9K Used 3-4 years... As Some Just Can't Afford Its Running
