If buying a split to save electricty then general is out of the league as it has piston type compressor-the same like window ac's.

ACSON. The best debate to this is that its being used commercially, its fully imported and chills like a rock.
On cheaqper brands, these days changhong ruba is being preferred as it is one of the better chinese brands, I've experienced it too and the cooling isnt bad.
