Best affordable car for regular inter-city travel via motorway

Hi, what is the best, comfortable and durable car for regular (at most twice a week) city to city travel (mostly Rawalpindi to Chakwal i.e 150+ km either side) and daily commute? Our price range is 10-12 lac rupees, with a relatively newer model (maybe 2012+) and mileage no more than 60,000 km. We cannot afford long rear-ended cars like corolla due to our garage length and neither can we buy something as high as a WagonR, again due to garage height constraints. We are open to any other kind of car that is easier to maintain and falls under the above criterion. Hoping to hear soon from all of motor enthusiasts here. Thanks in advance.

If you can extend your budget a bit, a Cultus VXR/VXL brand new would be best for you. Highly fuel economical car.

You may go for the old shape / old model EFI Cultus, matching your budget. Brand new Cultus (Celerio) may be slightly out of your budget.
Both are fuel efficienct.

What I didn't write in the query is that we already own a Cultus 2006 model and looking to sell it because of increasing maintenance costs, plus it doesn't seem to be the right build or tough enough for regular long distance travels. So I will like other than Cultus, if possible. Thank you for your replies.

Faw V2 is also a good choice its powerfull, comfortable and will fit your budget and will be new so will not breakdown often

Go and check out a FAW V2 only if there is a dealer near you. It's a car based on the first generation vitz, and as compared to other local hatchbacks, it's safer. Other option would be to go for a swift, if you are willing to compromise on safety for parts availability.

Built quality is optimal keeping in mind its price and customer service is also very good not like the big three. Its the only car that gives such safety features like ABS with EBD and dual Airbags which even Honda is not offering in its 2 million rupees car city

get a 2012-2013 swift, since you mostly travel long, mileage isn't an issue. Its a durable car, the issue will be the high token tax and limited rear leg space, if those aren't an issue, get a swift without a second thought but any model post 2013, the quality takes a drastic fall after that

yes i did almost 900KM in one day FSD to ISL and ISL to FSD after this long drive i am very impress with the comfort and drive didn't feel any tiredness, drive was fun and specially seats are comfortable didnt feel any kind of pain after setting for long time . Usually when you drive your bum starts hurting in a long drive but i was amazed after this ride . I crossed Salt range around 60 to 70Km/h i know its dangerous but this cars gives me a good road grip i didn't feel that its going out of control specially on turns it was smooth .Happy with cultus

Go for Honda City. Perfect car for driving in city and intercity. You can find City 06,07,08 model within 10 Lacs. City has a comfortable drive and gives fuel economy as well.
