we have the same old honda 2500 and it works like a donkey. maybe like a russian artwork, it is reliable and stable and meets our needs, starts up shutsdown by itself. its the best investment we ever made. been over 10 years and 5000 hours of runtime, still going

do i definitely recommend honda if you can afford it

Chinese brands are good if you don't run AC, fridge or other sensitive appliances. But if you do, buy some renowed brand like honda, yamaha, hundai.
The best chinese brands are: Jasco, Loncin, Magma, Lifan, and many more... I have been using Magma for 10 years and still going Ma.sha.Allah... The great thing about chinese brands is that the complete spare engine and dynamo can be replaced by a brand new unit, and all other spare parts are available and very cheap.
