Ok so just want to give a heads up to all those who plan on visiting bashir autos for the ac repair / service job. My last month's visit for margalla's ac repair was a good one however there was something which I had noticed a few weeks later which was a little dissatisfying for me. To access the evaporator, the factory fitted speakers have to be removed from the dashboard for the uninstallation. My speakers had given up within a few weeks and when i had checked them, I was shocked to see that the speaker was mounted to its clamp using 1 screw only whereas 4 screws are needed. The remaining 3 screws were attached to the magnet of the speaker. It was irresponsible attitude of the workers. Different people had been working on the unit and the person refitting was different from the person who has uninstalled. The person who has uninstalled should have carefully kept all the screws and the person fitting should have arranged for the screws or inquired about the missing screws rather doing a bang up job.
2 days back i had visited them again with my civic 2005 for the ac condensor fan motor replacement. I had requested the owner to ensure that my coolant is not lost during this process since it is a pretty costly one. I shadowed all their workers and personally inspected all the trays in which the coolant was to be drained. Their trays were dirty and I had instructed them to wash and dry them before draining my coolant. Only 0.5 ltrs of my coolant was drained and the drain plug was fitted back. The next part was transferring the drained coolant from the tray to a clean bottle / container. I had ensured that he container was also cleaned and dried to my satisfaction. I was pretty much satisfied till the point where my coolant was drained and carefully stored for refilling and enjoyed watching the fan motor replacement. After all the fitting was done, a worker comes up with the container that had my drained coolant and starts refilling the radiator and the reserve bottle. alarmingly, both the radiator and the reserve bottle were full and there was still a big amount of coolant left in the radiator. I was at a loss and physically inspected the container. To my horror, the coolant appeared to be lighter in color from what was drained. I immediately got ahold of the guy who was topping up the radiator and asked him what he had done with the fluid. To my shock, his reply was 'SIR THORRA TAPWATER ADD KIYA HAI, APKA COOLANT KAM THA''. I was horrified at his response and was finding a wall to hit my head on. I yelled at him for his dumbness and took it up with the owner who made a sorry face. No compensation was made here and i was supposed to drain the entire coolant prematurely (just 2 month old) and replace it with fresh new one. Rs. 3000 gone down the drain.
All those who plan on going to bashir autos need to stand on the heads of their workers and inquire about each and every step they take. had i not noticed this, my car's tstat valve would have gone bad in a few month.
Bashir sb and his son shakeel bhai are honest and credible people but their workers are absolutely incompetent. One would need to sit on their heads to get the work done in the right manner.
Perhaps this is why sabir is a little premium. Even a 12 year old kid at his workshop knows what he is doing as per the teachings of his seniors. So one can have some piece of mind that no jugarrs would be done at Sabir's setup.
