My ideal metrics would be:
* Properly flushing a system if necessary.
* Using the correct quantity and type of lubricating oil for the compressor.
* Vacuuming a system using an actual pump, holding vacuum to check for leaks.
* Pressurizing a system with nitrogen instead of air to check for leaks.
* Filling refrigerant by weight, instead of guesswork using low-side pressure with the system running while hugging the canister to prevent it from freezing.

Bonus points (impossible) for:
* Recovering refrigerant instead of venting it to atmosphere.
* Verifying charge using thermocouples to measure superheat vs. ambient temp.

@capsat used to recommend Sabir in Nazimabad, although his more recent reviews from forum members indicate that he's better avoided.

SanPak talked a big game about being the only official Sanden authorized this and that, and how their CEO in Lahore is Japanese, but ultimately didn't inspect my system or even hook up a manifold gauge set, only telling me to get a Duet compressor. They said they didn't have any new components in stock.

Mirza Umair Baig at Quick Cool charged me Rs. 5.5k to put foam pieces around my condenser and fan to form a makeshift shroud. One of his guys, connecting a manifold gauge set, vented some refrigerant out of the low side, and quite a lot from the high side. This was then claimed to be my fault, since I was the one who asked to measure pressures, and I had to pay Rs. 500 to replace the lost refrigerant, filled by "andaza" while flipping the canister over a few times.

Shaukat at M. S. Autos said my compressor is overheating, without hooking up any gauges or even checking temperatures and pressures. He said my radiator needed replacement (it does not) and my condenser fan was "strong."

Any more recommendations are welcome.

Right now in Karachi, no body from above-mentioned list do all these things which you wrote, however some will do few points.

For checking cooling on vents temp and outside temperature, you should bring your own Guage there....By weight filling and storing previous gas is done at some 3S

sabir 2k stop and sikander sanden near 2 talwar

have used both.

both use vacuuming procedure, fresh oil and fresh o ring.

sabir used to have a proper vacuum pump, sikander also used to have one, but not sure now.

sikander has new genuine components. he used to work as a partner for sanden in karachi. he has assistants do work now.

both are pricy. have had good experience with both..

sabir seems to be a bit bitter now... maybe the arguing customers, huge increase in material and equipment and consumable prices..
