In this price you would get about 15 years old sedan and keep one thing in mind, old cars come with a cost, cost of maintenance more than newer ones as you have to visit workshop more frequently because after 15 years almost all the systems are pretty old like engine, transmission, suspension. You will have to do some maintenance works immediately after buying. (no work required, just buy and drive) in the ads is mostly just a fairy tail. In this budget and 2000-2008 models, i would get a car with easy maintenance, economical parts, reliability. I think a corolla gli 1300cc or if you want automatic transmission then se saloon 1600cc as when you switch from manual to auto, there is loss in performance so for auto, go for bigger engine. If you know you are gonna do maintenance more frequently that comes with old cars then someone will be foolish to buy a car with parts availability issue, car less know to mechanics etc. I would buy auto se saloon 1600cc if i were in your shoes.
