I have bought a toyota land cruiser Fj40 jeep which i want to restore and i wanted to know what are the best engines that i can put in it i have many people say B2 or B3 engine but i think they are too old engines and others have said 1KZ engine but that one is too expensive i was looking for the best engine within 2.50 to 3 lac range i would like good fuel economy. i would really appreciate some help with this. i want the best engine that is reliable and does good fuel economy in my range above.

If you can get a B3, nothing like a good old mechanical engine. But now extremely hard and expensive to purchase like a 12ht. Try for a 2H (non turbo 12ht) but again, super rare to find one
One engine still available is the 1HZ straight 6. Ideal for an old school toyota but will be very expensive. Rest, a very long life, powerful engine which will keep chugging like a donkey pump
there is literally no toyota diesel engine available in that budget
you can try finding a 2L, 3L or 5L in your budget
