I am Very Disturb About My Indus 2.od 2000,
Many Times Consult With Mechanics ,But Not Satisfied,

planing to overhaul the engine and want to go from manual to auto gear transmission

what should be the cost of overhaul and auto gear

i asked from a mechanic in mithu khan rwp he gave me the estimate of 50k for overhaul and 30k for auto gear

Total = 80k with labour

i was facing poor mileage from 2c auto and visited as many USTADs as possible. everyone has tried his own jugar from diesel pump to automizer to fix this issue but in vain.
no one pointed out about engine health and final diagnosis was transmission issue which i replaced about 25k+ expnese including labour and gear oil but still problem was there then i swap it with petrol engine and expense was around 100k. reason of investing was the drive of E110 corolla.
they (mechanics) can only start/run the engine but rest of matters are out of their box.

An experienced diesel mechanic is next to impossible in my city. We have owned & loved 2.0D 2005 comfortable,powerfu,fuel efficient,reliable & low cost of maintenance.
The problem is that if the engine is diagnosed incorrectly, work carried out is unwarranted the problem persists which is extremely irritating.
