Exactly! Even IMC isn’t stupid, they recommended 5w50 for 2zrfe and 1zrfe engine, but many experts recommended me to keep 5w30 and 10w30.
I used it for first 15k kms in my car, and i faced many issues such as bad cold startup, and noises like gurr gurr, vibration at 2k rpm and laggy at high rpms.
I than used toyota taglon 5w50 for next 20k kms. All other issues went away but there was noise at cold startup of dual vvti (tick tick tick) which might not come in 1.3, but quite audible in 1.6 and 1.8.
I changed oil to liqui moly 5w40 than and that noise was reduced to great extent. At 55k kms on odometer, and after a lot of researching and knowing about R&D of company I decided to go for Mobil 1 5w50. Alhamdullilah i’m not facing a single issue now, my car’s acceleration and fuel economy is optimal. People says a lot, but pouring what IMC recommends. I faced issues on less viscous oil, but no issues on 5w50.
