As per https://www.honda.com.pk/parts/index.php/products/bycategory/6 , 0w-20, 5w-30 and 10w-30 are the oil grades recommended for Honda vehicles. 0w-20 is for Honda BRV, latest generation Honda Civic and Honda City (2017 and above), while other 2 grades are for rest of the vehicles (you may check the link for more, comprehensive details).
xw-40 (be it 0w-40, 5w-40 or 10w-40, etc.) is not a recommended oil grade for Honda vehicles as per this link, so caution may be exercised while switching, and then sticking to this oil grade.
5w-30 would be best suited, and there will not be any need to switch to next thicker recommended oil grade i.e. 10w-30; if the engine has always been well-maintained and oil has always been changed after regular intervals (even if it crosses 1.5 lac Kms mark).
If it's absolutely necessary and 5w-30 doesn't suit, then just switch to 10w-30, but not above this grade (like xw-40, xw-50, etc.)
