Owner’s manual of city 1.3 MT
These graphs are now obselete..in reality. 5w-40 is just putting extra load on ur engine..5w-30 is what u should be Using. Its not damaging your engine but why put extra load on engine?
Outside temperature story is long gone sir..0w-20 is even fine
Also these graphs are generic..even my 1996 civic manual is showing same chart :). These are to show that u can use this grade..but recommendation is different than availability.
I always used 5w-30 in 2000 mod.exi and car ran like a champ. Right grade is the key for longer life provided u use the original oil..from any brand
Its a suggestion only..u will feel better drive and get mileage with 5w-30. Rest is ur choice.....but outside temperature has nothing to do with mota patlaa oil.as no matter even in 50c outside, ur engine will still be hotter than 50c...in running condition even if its winters
Yup outside temp is irrelevant i do understand that but i dont think that this chart is obsolete. Rest its a personal choice people even use 20w-50. As per oem a wide variety of grades is ok for city but i chose 5w-40 coz 5w-30 is not available in havoline, and i am a die hard fan of caltex products so opted for 5w-40 instead.
If u love havoline then yes that's theonly option. I stick to grade and decide brand afterwards
20w-50 is a grease for these cars
Bro What is recommended oil for honda city? I am using 0w20 from 5k kms and now 20k on odo.
5w-30 all the way. Its a very reasonable grade.. Honda recommend this grade as well in city
These bloody dealership morons put 0w20 in my car despite i am insisting them to put 5w30. Next time will switch to 5w30 inshaaAllah. Thanks for the reply 🏻
if your car does not reduce oil then there is no harm in putting 0w-20
0w-20 will give you better fuel mileage
Manufacturer recommendation should be followed. Nowadays 0w-20 is in fashion..very soon 0w-16 will also come in fashion. If manufacturer selects 0w-20 for l23 or l15, then it should be used
My car is only 20k driven so far and no issues of oil reduction and i have done everything like driving slow, fast, mix and city does not go above 425km in a single tank.
then, i would suggest to continue with 0w-20I put 0w20 in my 40,000km mileage car.
and I used to put 0w20 in my previous 80,000 driven civic
Sure will continue with it. Thanks for the information 🏻
Are we actually waiting for oil reduction and the switch to 5w-30? City L13/L15 have 5w-30 recommended for a reason. New civic 1.8 has 5w-30 recommended. Turbo has 0w-20 recommended. Even with wrong grades, these cars easily last for a good time, doesn't mean we should continue doing that.
have you seen owners manual or civic X 1.8 or Turbo ?
if you had seen you would not be saying what you said..
I have seen ..US manual says 0w-20 even for Corolla as well. For City, no manual says 0w-20. Mostly grades are as per market as well. 0w-20 will suit civic and even corolla as per international manuals but certainly not city. I'm specific to CITY
civic says 0w20 in pakistan
g g I agree on civic..not on city
