Which car do you have and feeding oils?

even if someone will pour c-oil in the engine, even then it will work.
But thicker oils does no good in the cars and neiter the engine is happy with them.
Synthetic oils provide outclass and more long lasting lubrication than the thicker oils. So its not wise to feed the new cars with thicker oils like 20/50 or 10/40.

Example,
i have new car and i feed it 20/50. I will get average like 10km/l and change intervals would be 4~5k max.
Keep using this oil and i have to start going workshop before 100k.

I feed it 10/40. I will get 11km/l and change interval would be 5k max.
Keep using this oil and i will take my car to workshop to see mechanic on/before 120/130k.

I feed it zic a+ (5/20) or similar grade oil. I will get 12km/l and change interval would be 5k.
Keep using this oil and i will take my car to workshop to see mechanic on/before 170/180k.

Now i feed my car with fully synthetic oils like 0/40, 0/30, 5/40, etc. I will get 14~15Km/l and change intervals would be 8~10k.
After driving car 200k, its engine will be healthy and young to go another 100k easily.

I Know What You Told......We Are Talking Engine Oils Here.........Not Gear Oils...So Stick To POINT.....!!

I Am Asking Why 10w-40 Won't Work As You Say NEGATIVE....!!

The Way You Are Explaining Things Mean Something Like -10W-30 Will Make Your Engine Go Immortal

However, this is for sure that i cannot give more simplest example to poke your deeper intellegance.
Most of the old mechanics will be agree wth this post who believe that only the best oil available in pak is 20/50 and we should use it from begining to the entire engine's life.

But in Pak. it take years or perhaps decades before people even start thinking about any change, generally.

Sir, i request to enhance your studies about synthetic oils. There are no miracles in their performance. But ofcoarse we feel ourself much satisfied with their ultimate functionings.

engine oils has mainly 4 categories (racing cars technologies not included).

Fully synthetic
semi synthetic
partially synthetic (or with synthetic formula etc.)
mineral oils.

oils are more than just these marketing lingo,

the base stock choice, the blending of others bits in it to satisfy the performance specs of different API specs or ACEA specs is taken into consideration.

How come people on PW assume that these API levels were just synthetic and mineral and just gaarha or patlaa haail, there are a bunch of mineral limitations in action here, specially oils formulated for DI engines - those engines face a lot of oil thinning due to fuel dilution.

Now before just talking about thick or thin please talk about more realistic stuff - e.g. why API specs are in place - not just viscosity numbers.

4 regular mineral 5w30 with SL API rating

which would you choose to use in a mercedes benz E430 from 2002? and why?

p.s. mercedes benz recommend an oil with a min viscosity of 12 cst at 100C and this engine uses a total of 4 cat converters, has roller tappet rockers and holds 9 litres of engine oil.

if its your car, then.it should be 0/40 for sure. Because you already mentioned in your previous posts about it.
Otherwise, first we always ask which oil is being used previously and changing intervals. After knowing it, a more precise suggestion is made in order to increase engine's performance.

very surplus information for common car owners. Perhaps only less than 0.001% people must be knowing about it. Am driving car since longtime n never wanted to go so deep to know viscosity of abc cst and at xyz temperature etc. It would be similar to calculate the calories in food before eating all the times.
I am not an engineer like you sir, just a common guy with a bit of interest about oils.

delo silver being an SG suits better to my car's engine

Used twice LUB PLUS bodro oil so far after zip A. It was noticeable change in engine sound. Engine now more noise less even after 4000km run. This Oil is made in Germany & only available in Plaza. It is a bit expensive but try it u will keep using this Oil.

And are these oils SAE complaint ?

BTW the owner of oil shop from where I get my car's oil change , according to him Mobil1 is the best oil and then others are in this order
1- Mobil1
2-Kixx
3-Liqui Moil
4-Performa

there are many different variants for the LM 5w-40, which one exactly are you talking about?
