Best Engine Oil for Toyota Passo 2014

Hey everyone ...
I am using Shell Ulta 5w40 Grey Box fully synthetic Engine Oil for my Toyota Passo 2014 model ...
can some one tell what’s the best time to change or how much Kms would it give on this oil under these specs of oil in Rawalpindi Islamabad ??

6,000 to 7,000 kms (depending on oil color on dipstick)

you are using the best quality which can easilly last 10,000 km's
now the problem is 1kr has tendency to reduce oil
hence these superior long lasting oils are not suggested
you HX7 blue box and drain at 5k

Let me give you my first hand, personal experience:

I have owned Passo X, 2013 model, with almost 47,500 Kms on Odo. I have always used 5w-30, API SN / SN Plus, Fully Synthetic Engine Oil (all 3 conditions met). In the beginning, I poured ENEOS Sustina but then I switched to Total Quartz 9000 Future series, since it's best for bucks!

Eneos Sustina is the best engine oil till-date I have ever experienced, but it's quite expensive. Due to its price, I switched to Total.

Do not listen to anyone regarding any other oil grade / viscosity. 0w-20 and 5w-30; these are the only 2 oil grades recommended for 1000 cc 1KR-FE engine as per car's manuals (5w-20 may also be acceptable, but not mentioned in car's manual).

I would suggest to only choose between these 2 oil grades and then switch to it and permanently use it. I would suggest 5w-30 grade / viscosity oil, and for best for bucks; Total Quartz 9000 Future series (or latest compatible available) and change oil along with genuine, OEM Oil filter, every 5,000 Kms.

For once, I poured 5w-40. Engine almost died. Pick, power, fuel economy, etc. Everything gone. I won't suggest to use 5w-40 for 1KR-FE. It's thick and non-recommended oil grade for this engine. Switch to and use 5w-30, and you will feel the difference!

Shell Helix Ultra, API SN / SN Plus, Fully Synthetic Engine Oil is offered here in Pakistan in 5w-40 (not 5w--30). So be careful and exercise caution in choosing the right engine oil grade.

If you can manage Shell Helix Ultra 5w-30, API SN / SN Plus, then it's Ok, otherwise, Total Quartz 9000 Future Series is best for bucks!

Shell Pakistan offers 5w-30, but it's not fully synthetic! It's rather Semi Synthetic, so I won't suggest / recommend it!

You can choose any brand, as long as it's reputed and is 100% genuine and original!

Shell, ZIC, Kixx, Total, Caltex Chevron, etc. Are some of the reputed brands. You can choose between them, but first finalize the oil grade.

I think ZIC, Shell and Caltex Chevron do not offer 5w-30, API SN / SN Plus, Fully Synthetic engine oils in Pakistan, officially!

You can also look for Kixx, other than Total. But why you don't wanna use / switch to Total? You seem not satisfied for Total.

Actually m using 5w40 for quite some time and my car is giving me great performance.. like pick and average is great .. as temperatures are high in these tropical areas as compared to the recommended one that meant for japan or cold weather region !

Well, I totally disagree with this logic, and this is a never ending debate. One is already going on in other thread. I used to believe in that logic, but not anymore now.

Rest... If you are satisfied with your car performance, engine oil, mileage, etc. what is further left to say?

Total quartz 9000 is economical. Easily available. After I changed to it the drive became supe smooth

Brother I have already mentioned Total Quartz 9000 Future Series in my posts above, in the very beginning of this thread. He wanted to know about alternative options, that's why I mentioned Kixx.

Yes. Absolutely. Total Quartz 9000 Future series 5w-30 is do offered in 1L packing too. You just need to find it in the market or from Total pumps.
